DWX - Next Event

The purpose of this topic is to see what ya'all think this even would be. TMyApp has said times without number.. and if I could get a dollar for everytime he's said that this would be the biggest event in SFO, I'd have more money than I have in the bank right now... err... not really :biggrin:

Anyway, for some reason, he's even kept the details from everyone including the mods/admins (for now.. that is :biggrin: )... so I think it'll be fun if we speculate for now on just what exaclty this event would be about.

I'd have to say it has something special for Ryu and Spiderman ... *cough* ... but oh well

I really can't sayy... the fact that the word "Weapon X" circles around Wolverine... if it is indeed as big as TMyApp said it would be, I doubt if Wolverine would be the main spin on the whole thing.

Then again, I don't know jack.. so I could be blabbering :biggrin:

Well it is about time Wolverine gets his other 2 hyper moves:

WeaponX and Fatal Claw

A little information about those two moves.

WeaponX:

Wolverine starts extracts his claws, even though they're already out and
says, "Let's go, bub!" and runs towards the opponent and, if he
connects, he'll start an auto-combo, similar to Captain America's Final
Justice, and after the end of the combo, he'll jump over the opponent,
leaving an 'X' shape with his claws, one of the most flashiest Hyper
Combos of all his moves. This game can be performed on the ground only.


Fatal Claw:

A most unusual move, Wolverine crosses his claws and jumps forward,
leaving a giant 'X' shape and if your enemy happens to be in the
vicinity, they'll be struck multiple times, this is a move you HAVE to
combo in, it's too hard to use it as a regular move. This move can be
performed on the ground or mid air.

but just because he's there, doesnt mean he directly gonna be upgraded. its a 50/50 chance for right nowbut i swear to god, i waited 3 long years for additional moves i need, if he doesnt get them........:biggrin:

i mean come on guys, this event been announced for the last 3 years ! 3 fliping years guys, its not just a wolverine new super moves, it s a whole new concept that i am sure of. true blanka09, tmyapp doesn't tell us much of this events, for the fact that its an event EVERYONe will like, not only the vips... the VIPS, the MEMBERS, the MODS everyone will just like it, its gonna be a whole new engine that i am sure of , if not then it could be a new character or even worst 3 to 4 new characters. new helpers, new levels, new moves, the end of the rage and evil scheme we all fell for a few months ago when DOR came live !

it could also include a whole new grabbing system and a whole new deal, an overhaul of the already made moves to make them even more precise.
how about a whole new engine capable of running and managing lag even betterly then we have now ?

I agree with Karma. DWX has been sitting there in the storyline ever since SFO has been up from what I can remember, so this has got to be an event that is going to shape the SFO community forever. For better or worse, LONG LIVE SFO!

Think big, but you've gotta put it all in perspective. TMyApp is obviously not gonna buy new computers and erect new servers and a whole new game engine for this... well, may be he will O_O... but heyy, you never know. That's the purpose of this topic.

I really don't know what to think. On one hand, there's the wolverine for all of us to see, and then on the other hand, it's a 3 year event; that however, doesn't erase the fact that it might be about Wolverine alone... it's "Weapon X" for reason, and there's no other character I see related to Weapon X but Wolverine :biggrin:

Iam reaLLY sure there will be a new character added, i have no doubt in my mind there WILL BE a new character. But a 3 yr event, wow..alot of changes can be made to this game, a whole new format with arieal royals, NO lag or reduced, recording 2 on 2 , obviously a different story line. Now that i think about it. SSJ has a point (with the Weapon-X Wolverine and Weapon-X Cyclops). Since they have a big part in the story, they can have like their own style. It can be similar to a dark form, but it isn't dark. Where they get special Weapon-X moves.

I think your right because on the homepage Wolverine is surrounded by a yellow aura instead of a red one which symbolizes rage. This is just a guess but I think its true after what Karma said.

Before you make me close this topic outta sheer reflex for comments like that, just know one thing. Everything I've said in this topic, comes from just prediction and trying to see what DWX might mean.

I haven't even put in my opinion of how it'll look like or what'll happen. Everyone else has been saying jack about Logan, it's starting to make me think TMyApp is making DWX for Wolverine. That could be a good idea, heck, I'd like the chance to fight a stronger wolverine with my spiderman... but I haven't really said anything to mess with ppl's heads... um.... that is, YeT :biggrin:

Well judging from the storyline.

And the image of wolverine on the front page..it's very apparent....wolverine will get an upgrade.


But when I think about the storyline....

Omega Red
Hulk
Cyclops

All held some serious ties to wolverine.....even magneto holds a bond to wolverine seeing as wolverine saved his life.....when magneto was a child in a ghetto.

And when I say ghetto I mean a ..well.. a jewish ghetto.

Yeah Magneto is a jewish..mutant.

Captian America and wolverine saved him from...well being thrown into one of those human ovens......

Sense then magneto withheld his powers around Wolverine...seeing how the majority of wolverine is metal....


What caused onslaughts unleash was for Professor Charles Xavier to cause a hectic crime.

He killed magneto...crushed his very mind....

The reason he did this was because he thought magneto killed wolverine...

For magneto removed Wolverine's complete skeleton..it was a gruesome comic issue...and I read it till the very end!!!!!

Have loads of ideas and theorys about DWX judging from what little information we have been given, but i say that TMyApp is misleading us...like that whole Sakura/Gambit thing...and plus 3 years in the making...why give us any clue of what is going to happen?...

Think back to any day of a new update...you and loads of players on SFO, trying out brand new characters, trying out brand new moves, looking for 'secrets'...not knowing, or not alot and having a great time...I personally think it's more fun when it is a complete surprise

That's probably the first thing I'm reading that has real meaning, based one evidence.

Although, those 3 strikes may not even have ANYTHING to do with what the event is... just like how Sakura just got herself sublimed into the story mode.

The whole thing is quite huge to place ur finger on. We don't have any clues to work with... except the wolverine on the front page (whic means nothing... as of yet :biggrin: ) and of course, the fact that it's been 3 years in the making.

But never the less I DO see some meaning in those 3 strikes in the story mode.

w.e happens when they bring out destination weaponx it will be something amazing i assume.. i remember like in the beginning of 2k2 that tmyapp add some feature in the training mode that you can use the chat display and press /weaponx and you will get some whole new mode of gaming.. if you win that mode you get some codes or hints on something.. now i assume this is gonna be different since hes been working on this for a very very very long time.. so it should be the best upgrade to sfo in my opinion

True... and I didn't expect this topic to gain so much popularity so quickly... but the again, there really isn't much to talk about here rather than this, so I guess making a topic about it wasn't such a bad idea.

My whole take is, trying to put what we have now together. TMyApp is obviously not gonna tell us (that means... you all :biggrin: ) what DWX is all about before the time comes... so whatever theories or postulates we come up with here, is all in good fun.

... first off... there is no "release date" for DWX... it is still "TBA"... (mainly because i'm still working on the event.. and i'm not 100% sure when it will be finished and/or released) ... when a date is known... it will be posted on the forum... AND the loading screen of the game... (as always)

also.. there is a lot of guessing on what exactly DWX will bring... the only thing i can say to that is that ALL of the clues (every single one) have already been given in each of the DWX chronicles (some have more info than others) ... if you "study them".. u'll have a pretty good idea of what to expect...

(when the event is finally released and is "finished", i will probably spend a bit of time ... and break down each of the clues in the chronicles, so ya'all can see of just how close/far- your guesses were :biggrin: )

true, wolverine and captain america worked together a few times int he past... as in before WEAPON X and before the captain was reported missing when fighting the RED SKULL. but there isn't much between them, both have enjoyed worked together as they both are great soldiers in themselves.

Silverfox did have memories of her with wolverine, but even thou wolverine is sure that not all of his memories about her are false, she thinks its all false, because of the WEAPON X project they just will never know the truth.

the only thing i can think of to add to sbyrd's talk, is that wolvirine and captain america were involved in the saving of magneto as a small jewish boy, but i will post links to all of the dwx chronicles soon if someone doesn't, because i might go back and reread them...


and mastergrim, wovlirine did not die from his skeleton getting ripped out, his healing ability grew a new skeleton made of bone, and he could extend his bone claws instead of metal.
if you need proof, go play marve| vs. capcom 2. there are two versions of wolvie; normal, and bone claw version.

Wolverine never had anything added to him except for the adamtnium who COVERed his bones... magneto cannot get his bones out but he sure can get the adamentium out which he did... the result is wolverine badly injured because of the massive amount of adamentium coming out at once. but wolverine recovers and they discover that the adamentium only covered bones that were already there. thus the 3 claws wolverine had was actually 3 more bones in his forearms which were there to enforce his skeleton other bones are there for him, he got another mutant thing, he got bones where normally any humans do not have... like the 3 claws in his forearms !

solidsnake76, i don't read the comics, but i am a fan of them and i know the series which up to a point followed the comics.

Even if you're not serious about it, if you act like that around people who don't know what the event may hold, you could really mess them up. And to make matters worse, by calling something TMy's promised to be the "best thing to happen to sfo" a sham, you're insulting him and this community.

Other peeps: I've spoken with TMy several times before about why he keeps sfo running, and every time he replies that he does it for the people who play it. For him, just knowing that he's making thousands of people happy by providing a free game is enough for him to continue putting up his own money and time into a project. If that were me, I probably would have given up long ago and tried to do something else with that negative cash flow. But for him, as long as you keep playing, he'll keep providing.

some more facts:

1: the final release date for any major event (especially this one) will be posted in the loading screen of the game, and the forum at least 30+ days before it happens (which means, you'll know 30 days ahead of time of when exactly DWX will be released)

2: DWX will not be the last event in SFO, the "story mode" screen can be expanded in the future to include an infinite number of "parts/episodes/chapters" that tell the story of SFO

3: TMyApp is not "rich" off the VIP donations... as mentioned dozens of times before, the donations never outweigh the actual costs of running a huge game such as SFO

4: SFO will never be "shut down" (even if it costs TMyApp god knows how much money out of his own pocket) ... UNLESS people stop supporting/playing it... (ie: if there is only 1-3 people playing the game, i will probably pull the plug... right now, we get 5000+ hits each day, so, we're not there YET... or anytime soon)

5: can we just ignore the ramblings of warmor and continue with the actual topic of the thread ?? (ie: the never-ending guessing of what DWX will be, that TMyApp finds every so amusing) :biggrin:

Having Windows XP should take care of "most" zipping problems, however, with SFO, you don't even NEED winRAR to extract what you need from the main exe file.

oni. You need WinZip (http://www.winzip.com/). It's what TMy uses to compress/zip folders so the files won't get loose as well as save space. You should get it sometime.

huh I am not a good guesser but I think TMyApp left some clues for us. Well one thing (I dunno if its the reason) I think that TMyApp left the ? squares for another wolverine and and cyclops, for they are most realated to it. Also if he left a normal picture with a square people would know he might had done another wolverine and cyclops, that plus since a character takes too long he probably might had done edits and another move. I haven't cheked the chroniqles but I will see.

longer lives.

other then that i don't know what to think of DWX, i rather not put my hopes to high, but i do think its gonna be a new feature that will change a bit of the engine, like maybe the grab system many people have asked for much time ! or maybe its the OPTION SAVING we all asked for so long. but i rather continu to say that it is nothing more then a few new move for the characters and a new storyline, maybe add a new character, like he did in every single events up to now.

my guess goes onto any charcaters in MvsC that was pretty darn cool and evil.
i just dn't know which characters that would be.

thats what i was thinking, but for her she has been mentioned in the dwx story in ways to keep her secret, while others who aren't playable are just right outspoken, so that kinda made it wierd, but it's very obvious who the next charector is; if you read all of the chronices again.

well i don't mind what happens in the DWX as long as they don't just update wolverine because that wouldn't be fair on all of the other people who use other characters, for example me (a ryu user) so im hoping each and every character would get an update and there would be new characters added to the game - now that would be cool :buttrock:

But in DWX, Spiderman player will continue to reign on sfo :) Im joking.
I have Evil Ryu, but i RARELY use him. If anybody has fought me they would know my best character is NORMAL Ryu. So what i am saying is that the NORMAL characters should also get an update, because like people who had the tornament Ryu have an advantage because that Ryu is stronger and faster so it seems So i would hope for the NORMAL Ryu to become like that

I think TMyApp will give us DWX chronicles to guess what will happen in DWX before it is released in the 30 days. Or he will just let us die in suspense of 3 yrs. I really hope that he posts the release date soon. I dont want DWX to be released in June like DOR.

I think hes going to add a new stage and put Magneto into the story because you cant have Bone-Claw Wolverine without Magneto.

If bone-wolverine does come, I doubt that TMyApp will give 2 characters on the same update. Magneto will probably be just a pic in story mode if he needs to be there. If he does give 2 characters, it might be bone-wolvie and Weapon-X Cyclops or maybe bone-wolvie and Phoenix.
