I'll give you you're reasons.
Turbo is laggier, even when it seems it isn't because you don't notice some minor bugs on high speeds. Turbo is nice and fast, but a pain in the butt to play against some people. Play against somebody with a laggy connection and it defaults to turbo and you might as well pray. Also, you generally have two to three seconds to select Turbo on the screen when it appears. Why can't you? It only 'freezes' AFTER you choose one, which means you accidentally SELECTED turbo. I know this, because I have done it before. Normal is much better as a default. You aren't messed over quite as much if it defaults to normal with a laggy opponent, MVC2. Hope that opinion helps.
