but i know this... UMBRELLA CORP was making viruses testing and release a new virus, so they could make the almighty ANTI-VIRAL product to counter their own virus which would spread world wide and make them rich because they would sell anti-virus because the world would need it ! but it didn't gone well and the mansion was lost, tho it was found that the mansion and so many places int he world were selected as test environment ! example... - RE1 MANSION - RE2 CITY (tho the G-VIRUS came into town by mistake) - RE:SURVIVOR (another city far from racoon city) - RE4 PRISON ISLAND hope this answered your question !
