My first reaction to SFO was "ugh." First of all, I'm a little confused by the usage of the MvC1 engine when the game is called Street Fighter Online. Purely cosmetic though, so I gave the game a shot.
I haven't tried versus because... well, the Story Mode games were so laggy and glitchy, I didn't think PvP would be very interesting. There's a lot of things I need to bone up on before I make official complaints (I'm sure they've all been addressed anyway), but I don't think people should be able to stand inside of Sentinel. ??? Anyway, I have a lot of suggestions, and being new here (first post! whee!) I don't know what's up for consideration or what has been suggested before. All I've been able to pick up is that there's plans for additional characters. I hope marve| doesn't shut this project down for using their characters... but I digress. Suggestions: - Try different interfaces. The "just like the arcade" motif is cute, but I'm sure that there's lots of interfaces that would better serve this game. - If the character selection gets pretty big, like MvC2 range, it would be helpful to have a "favorite list." Everybody has a few favorite characters that they stick to, so maybe off to the side you could make a panel where they can customize their own mini character select. - Make an "arcade perfect" version. This will help attract competitive players and strengthen the community. The extra characters and moves are great, but still experimental. Some people may claim that you've "ruined" the game. Having two different modes, new and original, will broaden the user base. |
