Almost more than anything I quit playing because the only games I could ever get on a regular basis were people hosting tag matches. And I hate to say it but pulling the weight for a partner isn't always bliss. And to add to that, I have very little luck challenging people and actually getting all the way to the fighting screen without something coming up (or being challenged for that matter).
Therefore, how about an option when you're making/naming your host on what kind of game you'll host 1 v. 2 tag, 1 v. 1 tag, 2 v. 2 tag, or 1 v. 1. After the name of the server you could make the type of match appear next to it (ex: "Unnamed Player's Server [1v1]"). This would keep people who don't play very frequently from constantly joining servers in which the host tries to make it 1 v. 2 and if he's losing he quits to restart the server and con some more suckers outa their time. Nothing in the actual hosting area would change except the host's ability to change the kind of game. And, as a bonus, people like me who like to jump from lp to lk or hp to hk would be able to do it without taunting/exiting every single time (such as what happens in story mode). |

Resident Evil: Yeah, well, I think I posted something like this over a year ago but never got a reply. Doesn't really matter though...
Edit: Well, maybe I was wrong. Didn't find any topics with this same idea, but I did find something on a high scores idea for story mode (which I still think would be cool btw, and a non-lagged way to gauge ur skill against others). but I suppose it doesn't even matter what I post here. Nowadays I think TMy's "to do list" for player requests begins to take effect in 2010 or so... Edited By 2000warrior on June 27 2004 at 23:18 |

well... the problem is that once the game server name is created (ie: after u click "host" button and pick a name for your game) it cannot be changed without restarting the ... game/server itself (well, it can be... but, its too much work @ this point)
one way to avoid that, is to force the player to pick his type of game at the same time he picks the server name... of course, then u see the other problem... he picks a name and a 2 vs 2 game.. then, the host ends up with 3 players (1 short)... and he can't switch back to 1 vs 2... thus, forcing him to close the server and restart it... anyway... it would not be the best system on the planet... (as u can tell) ... it be nice if the player's actually decided on the game they want... and, have the name reflect that (ie: putting things like "Joe's 2vs2 game" instead of "Joe's game") ... but, i doubt we can get the kids to ... u know... "think" and/or do something logical  |

yea i agree with TMyApp... it would be boring waiting for an hour for another player to join while the other 3 are still waiting for the game to start...

An hour? My god.. it takes all of 15 seconds to close the game and re-host. If people are too lazy to do that then how did they ever wait for the game to load up?
Besides, nobody needs to play in 2 vs. 2... this sort of system would encourage more 1 v. 1 and 1 v. 1 tag matches. And from what I've seen in the chat rooms, there is no problem finding enough people for a 2 v. 2 match. Games usually fill up in under a minute. Anyways... I'm certain that just changing where the type of game option is from the in-host screen to the naming your host screen would take less time than adding another shoto-clone to the game, which we can of course all do without ... but... I'll give up now

naw dont give up yet....
How about if you can pick the type of game you want before you host... like TAG OR NON TAG...then if you pick tag then all of your options can only be: 1 on 1 tag 2 on 1 tag 2 on 2 tag level: up to 2 helpers: on/off timer n/offwhen they host games it should have a different font color like RED for tag and YELLOW for non tag.... Non tag matches should only havew the option to pick a classic 1 on 1 battle with levels up to 2 helpers on/off and timer on/off buT I THINK THATS TOO MUCH WORK LOL...so i can dream on... |
