Losing Sync... - ...while you're being hit by a Super?!

Has anyone ever lost sync as they were being beaten half to death by an opponent's Super? I have, several times. It prevents me from trying to defend myself while my opponent keeps on pummelling me! If the game loses sync, wouldn't it make sense for the game to pause while it tries to reconnect?
