August, 2001

Comments:
August 7th 2001, marked the first day of the release of X-Men vs. Street Fighter to the public. The site's two proprietors, TMyApp and leftyfb, both had initial success within days. TMyApp primarily created the site while leftyfb provided the webspace. August proved to be one of the most hectic months for TMyApp especially, who was stuck fixing a seemingly endless stream of bugs. Near late August, TarkanX began his dojo (training school) where he trained respected members such as Inclusive and Elena.

Aug 7th: xmvssf (online) 1st released to the public along with the official forum
Aug 11: Bugs and Problems section of the forum was added.
Aug 20th: Pufflofa began a thread to determine who would be the next character. In only a week the players had decided who they wanted, Wolverine.
Aug 21st: Challenges and Tournaments, and News and Updates sections of the forum added. TMyApp announces his plan to add helpers to the site.

Other News and Updates:
Aug 14th: leftyfb posts about needing more web space providers.
Aug 20th: v0.1L; cheat detected bug fixed, infinite shinkuu hadoken fixed, down back kick performs more like in the arcade, opening chat in the first seconds freezes the site fixed, Ryu falls when doing sweep and dragon punch, air blocking was added.

September, 2001

Comments:
In September xmvssf (online) was still a new site and traffic was starting to increase a bit. In early September, the original helpers were released (Sentinel, Guile, Venom, Blanka). Also in early September, ewalk organized the famous Ryu's Drunken Brawl private tournament. By mid-September, the first X-Men vs. Street Fighter (online) fan site was created by Randraco. By late September, many members had started fan sites dedicated to X-Men vs. Street Fighter (online) including, Warmor, TarkanX, Mr. Grim, and Johny Blaze (of which Warmor's is the only still in existence). By late September, several clans were emerging (although Black Dragons was the only recognized clan). Most didn't last very long and TarkanX soon earned the reputation as the "clan destroyer" for his many attempts and success at stopping clans from forming before they got off the ground.

February could best be described as a time of decline in action among the xmvssf (online) community. Although not much happened, error800 was fixed which had kept many users from accessing their accounts. Infinite supers were also fixed. Zing79 soon began registration for TOC III and by late February fear_tetsuo had won but was disqualified a week later for telling Stealth_Dragon the password for DS's clan forum who he thought was in the clan.
