I've noticed something.
In TV and movies, we have the same main charectors. White males, roughly 20-30 years old. Now, that seems like a bit of a problem concidering white males are actually sort of a minority, as there are more women than men and more non-whites than whites. Think of a show with the main charector as a women. Now, think who that women is. The show that came to my mind is "Stacked", with Pamela Anderson. Is it odd that the only show I can think of with a women main charector has to be a drop dead hot super model (or whatever how job is now) like her? Think of a show with a black main charector. Now, think who the other stars are. you'll probably think of something like the huglies, or the parkers or some other show with underpayed actors that come out in UPN. The problem with this is that they all have like one token white person, and all the white shows have one token black person. It seems very disturbing to me how we as a society can claim to be desegregated, when in the entertainment buisness it's as segregated as ever. The only form of entertainment I can think of that is somewhat desegregated racially and sexually is the pron industry. But let's try not to get into that. Think of the movies currently out. These are the ones at my local movie theater: Amityville Horror, The Fever Pitch Interpreter, The King's Ransom Kung fuHustle Lot Like Love, A Pacifier, The Ring Two, The Robots Sahara Sin City Let's classify them by the race or gender of their cast, excluding certain films cased on robots or something. Amityville Horror, The - White main charectors, primarily white cast with a few token black charectors Fever Pitch - White main charectors, primarily white cast with a few token black charectors Interpreter, The - White main charectors, primarily white cast with a few token black charectors King's Ransom - Black cast, except for a token white person or two. Kung fuHustle - Asians, but no poop, it's a kung fufilm, since obviously america doesn't accept foreign films unless they portray the people as crazy stereotypes. Lot Like Love, A - White main charectors, primarily white cast with a few token black charectors Pacifier, The - White main charectors, primarily white cast with a few token black charectors Ring Two, The - White main charectors, primarily white cast with a few token black charectors Sahara - White main charectors, primarily white cast with a few token black charectors Sin City - This movie is actually pretty diverse. Am I the only one who sees a problem with entertainment, now days?
