So for christmas I get a new computer with a CD burner. Now, I must ask: How the hell do I burn my own music CDs? What file-types must I download that can be burned onto CD and played in any CD car stereo/stereo/discman? Any good sites for downloading music? I ask this only because I never had a CD burner before, and it's easier to pay $15 for a pack of burnable CDs to burn music than going to Sam Goody or the Wiz and dropping $15 for a single CD

Normally I'd use Kazaa, but they don't make Kazaa for iMacs. I've only got LimeWIre, and LimeWire sucks more than Jenna Jameson on her best day. Are there any good websites I could go to with lots of mp3s that I can download?

first: MP3 doesn't play in NORMAL CD PLAYERS !

WAVES do !
basically what EASY CD CREATOR 4 and more does, is this...
you put your MP3s in the list, and when burning, EASY CD CREATOR convert them into WAVES who are playable into all CD PLAYERs.

the only CD PLAYERS that actually read MP3 are the NEWEST that came out of the factory about 1 year or less. all other CD player before that time doesn't read MP3s !

only when it is writen on them that they can !

conclusion:
EASY CD CREATOR 4 and UP is capable of writing those MUSIC CDs with ease.
or use
some other software and tell him that it is a MUSIC CD tat you want to create, and it will tell you how !
remember that to be played in any NORMAL CD PLAYER, they recording speed MUST NOT be over 2x or the CD chances of JUMPING in the drive are going up as well !

all you need to know is all here !
good luck !

As far as software goes, i've got iTunes

As far as having a mac goes...

I need it for my major. Macs have both better graphic design programs and a more user-friendly interface. If they created PCs capable of running ALL the Mac-only programs that I NEED for my major and future career, I'll get a PC

karam, do you always need those exclamation marks at the end of everyone of your sentences?

anyways, easy cd creator sucks #### so bad. it's some cheap adaptec crap that comes with all cd burners. you know why it comes with the burner? cause it's cheap. adaptec always make the crappiest software and easy cd creator is no exception. the simplistic interface is proof enough. the best burning software for windows is Nero Burning Rom, yep, won 15 awards.

Joe, i recommend going to vgmfusion for further assistance, quass and zing know a lot more about macs than most people here.
