what do you all think about lebron james and the cav's? do you think lebron james can carry his team to the playoffs? will he be rookie of the year? most of all can he live up to all this hype created by the media?
what about Carmelo Anthony? can he be the missing piece of the puzzle for the nuggets? will he be rookie of the year? can he live up to the hype? well as for as the hype goes, i think they can live up to it. these guys are both young. they're both great players but still have much to learn. these guys have been playing well so far and i think they will both have a great year. lebron james is a great passer and a great play maker. his shots are a bit off but i think he can shoot fine. one thing im concerned about is his involvement in defense.he just stands around on d. and doesnt make an attempt to help out. but i think he'll get better as time goes on. i think his skills will make the cav's better. however, i seriously doubt they'll make the playoffs. its impossible this year for them. Carmelo Anthony will definitly make the nuggets better. he is quick. hes a great rebounder. he can shoot the ball. however, like lebron, he needs to improve his shooting and shot selections. he will have a great year but the nuggets dont stand a chance to make the playoffs. and as far as the rookie of the year..........my pick goes to Lebron James. um im guessing your talkin about the cav's vs nuggets game last night. well he only had 7 points last night but he averages18 points per game so u can see last night he just had an off game. he barely touched the ball. plus he put up some rebounds and assists which helped the cav's out. lebron is a good player. as time goes on you'll see what hes capable off. heh, he may even make the all star game this year

As for the cavs making the playoffs... err.. I doubt it.. with a 0 and 4 start to this season.. things might get really tough for them.. And I don't think Lebron is matured enough to carry the team on his shoulders..

I doubt it...I mean they still are kids and being handed millions of dollars, that aint right to me. But, as for skill, they have it..but I think they should grow up before they play with the big boys.

Wow, someone actually knows about basketball. Well, to answer the questions, they'll live up to the hype, and in a couple of years, they'll be pretty good, the superstars of the team (Pretty close to being them right now).
Yesterdays game was a bad game for both players, everyone has their bad games, and even though Lebron did score 7, he is an all around player (He is like Magic, not Jordan, don't know how people come up with he plays like Jordan, sporting the number 23 doesn't mean anything). He backed it up with 11 Rebs, 7 assists, 3 blocks!! 2 steals, and only 2 turnovers. Carmelo is not like Larry Bird (at least not right now). He can score (outside and inside), can rebound, and that's about it, if he has a bad game scoring, then he has a bad game (Larry Bird was all around, he can blow up 40+ on any given night (especially in the playoffs), he can rebound, he can pass, he can steal, he IS Mr. Clutch, he can score anywhere, even from downtown. Whereas if Lebron gets 0 points, he can back it up with ease by getting 10 rebs, 10 assists, and so on. Cleveland isn't going anywhere for a couple of years, then in about 3 years (maybe even 4), they'll make the playoffs as a low seed, it'll take them at least 4 or 5 years to get up there to the East finals, or even the NBA finals, and that is if this team stays consistent. Cleveland has a really good team right now, but they don't play D, and they don't have chemistry right now, that's where Lebron is supposed to come in. Right now, he doesn't seem like a PG, he should play SF (Dazzling passes doesn't automatically put you at PG). Magic was a PG for a reason, not because of his amazing passes, but because of what a PG is supposed to do... be the floor general. A point guard guides the team to where they should go, he gives them directions for what they are supposed to do. He is the best dribbler and passer on the team, and he can create easy shots for other players. What Lebron does is go up the court without telling his teammates what to do, then passes it to the closest player without posting up, and then backs away from the whole team, which in reality, with that build he has, he should get inside. That is one of many reasons why Magic IS the best Point guard EVER. Lebron also has to work on his shot, he has perfect form on his shot, so it's probably a mental thing that's troubling him. Also, although dunks are sweet, they don't make a superstar, if that were so, then Baby Jordan (Harold Miner), Dee Brown, Spud Webb, Vince Carter (He's not bad, good in my book) would be one of the best. Nuggets, even though they are in the west, they actualyl stand a chance. They won't be an 8th seed, infact, they won't even be a 9th seed, but they'll give teams in the west trouble. They beat San Antonio, and Sacramento, although this is early, they have greatly improved from las years dissapointing season. Nuggets have a better chance of going to the playoffs, but both of them are NOT going to the playoffs this year. |

Wow a thread relating to the NBA.
Well lets see what you have here are to little birds who have just hatched out from their eggs, everyones eyes are on them because they want to see these two superstars fly. Well let me tell you anthony impresses me but LeBron on the other hand is just like the next Antwan Jamison to me. I think so because LeBron is a new player on the court of the NBA. He does not have the mentality of a NBA player in order to become a great. He will be the next Jamison because he does not know how to run his team and how to be a leader. Sure he's an amazing player now, but give it a year or so and you'll see him fall just like the rest of the rookies. I mean Amare Stouamire was great last year but if you look at him now he has dropped into a new level. But I can tell Amare will be one of the best. BAck to LeBron what tells me he isn't much is not the fact of his statistics although I gotta admit he's killing it on the court,( I mean he's just came in and almost got a Triple double.) he doesn't seem to be comfortable with the way he's playing. He looks like he isn't sure about what he should do next.( Will he even goto college, highly doubt it) Overall he aiint going to help the Cavs much because like Tark said he just gives it to the closest guy and he's done his job. A great point guard would have to be Alvin williams from the Toronto Raptors, not much on getting points but he sure knows how to run his team he has great mentality and he knows the game and he knows his players. Now if LeBron wanted to become a great he would have to change his shots think about the game more, mature alot more and learn a heck to become a great, because let me tell you numbers don't say everything e.g Wilt Chamberlain was a machine of PPG, RPG, APG, BPG but now not much people give a damn about him since he never had a great attitude towards the game and he never had the mentality of a leader. Jordans numbers were way lower than Wilts but people loved him because of his skills, attitude and leadership skills. Now i'm going to end by saying that LeBron is just a little bird who hasn't opened it's wings yet but is already trying to fly high. Carmelo - Well I believe Tark described him the best way possible. I swear I see potential in this guy. But hey what do I know I aiint even in the NBA, but have been a fan since I was able to understand what Basketball is.
