An official sfo tourny? - Can it happen?

Ok i know what your thinking "illegal, illegal" lol but i think there should be an official SFO tourny/benefit to raise money for SFO. Ok so yea marve| might catch wind and fry our asses, got that down. How are we gonna get the money? Paypal! How much to enter? $5 or so i dont know...... but what is it for? Ahhh yes, your thinking that TMy will get in trouble because it will generate revenue into his pocket...... no it won't. What im proposing is that the entry fee's will go to the grand prize winner and the rest of the proceeds will go straight into the creation and maintence of SFO i.e. new servers and stuff like kaillera one's that allow ppl with proxy's and firewalls to host and actually fight so it will eliminate many problem's for people so SFO can be open to many more! Ok this idea must have came up before so just deal with it people! Ok it would be the most massive tournament ever and let's see........ wouldnt you wanna fight for that grand money prize? ok so when u win the money get's transferred into your Creditcard that you used to enter. Ok so think people, if you donate $5 to participate and 1000 people enter...... thats 5 grand you guys!!! 5 grand!!! and the grand prize winner gets lets say $1 for every person who participates and thats $500!! thats 100 times more money you get than you donated to enter!! ok and second place makes $0.75 for every person who enters, thats $375 and third place gets $0.50 for every player, then they get $250!!! ok so out of the $5000 raised from the entries SFO gets $3875...... think of what SFO can do with that?? ok im sure TMy has put more money than that overall but what if more ppl enter?? BIGGER PRIZE money and more money to SFO..... its like entering the lottery but u get to fight for the prize u know?? And it would be totally kool because all of the money that was raised goes directly into the maintence and creation of SFO!! So i really dont wanna hear what you have to think on it, all i wanna hear was "WOULD YOU ENTER IT?" cmon people, this could be the biggest thing ever in the history of SFO and the winner would be crowned the official king of SFO!! prizes for almost everyone and stuff!! This idea is patent pending so if TMy doesnt approve then i will have to make this unnoficial but if it did indeed become official then think of it!?! We would need all sorts of promotion across the net and everywhere!!! And it could be a yearly thing so it would always generate funding for SFO!!

Remember..this is a NON-PROFIT business....if it were to be making profit, then the marve| execs would come in and cause trouble for Tmy...and i'm pretty sure he wouldn't want that.....not to mention if capcom found out about the game making profit....

and there IS official tournaments....known as Mod Tournaments....the last one was held last year...called The World Warrior Tournament. I played this game after it finished so i don't know much about it.

ya how would tmy give out the money? na sfo will always be free and we never have to pay anything unless you want to donate or want to become a vip and well never have a touny for money unless you cout evil akuma one...but that a different story

3. Ppl playing for money is the whole idea here Dark..... I really feel you didn't fully understand what i was saying here.

4. It would basically be O.K. just like VIP donations u know? because that is used for SFO, then proceeds would be used for SFO....... like ONE BIG donation!!!

5. It's NOT profit!!!! and it's not for TMy to buy a new car or something.... it's for development and up keep of SFO!!!!

ya... but you dont know what would happen people would want to be in it for the money not for fun but for the money...its not right i dont care how much it would make its not a good idea ask Blanka09 or any other mod they would tell you the same thing

A'int gonna happen..Your talking about advertising it all over the internet and all that bull but if capcom seen this and decided to sew TMyApp for making money off of a game that they have characters in he would end up paying them more then what he got from the dam tournament plus he would have to shut the game down entirely..So i give this a NO..=\

Taking awayy the already stated fact that any method in which funds are "purposely generated" for the game has been disapproved; TMyApp has already stated that there will be the no official tournaments in a good while for good reason.

Reasons that would make perfect logical sense if most of the people here were over 15. Sadly, most of the people playing the game are between 7 - 14; therefore it's best to take the final say. NO Official tournaments :biggrin:

Nowback to the money issue. That just doesn't sit well with anyone else in this communiy for the main reason that it'll GAIN money. The whole purpose of this project as stated a couple of times is to make a game free for the mass. Anyone who has a connection to the internet being able to play the game for free without hassle. And it'll stay that wayy.

If there's a melt down and TMyApp needs money (which I doubt anytime soon).. then there are other ways he'll get it.. rather than "from this game". Donations like that only bring more unneeded attention to this game by big companies.. a la marve|.. and even though you just put that aside as being one of the side problems... it IS actually the biggest problem this game would ever face.

How to explain to all of you that the purpose of the game isn't to generate funds for either TMyApp OR SFO.. in any 'reasonable' sense known to mankind. Ergo... even though you might THINK it is for good reason, nothing good would ever come out from it... trust me, I had to learn that in a 25 paragraph epistle from TMyApp himself :biggrin:

So until there's a basic change in the clockwork settings of SFO and a bit of maturity noticed by "us" in it's users, we'll have to keep things the wayy they are as far as tournaments go. Large scale unofficial tournaments can be held anytime though... but the word "official" is pushing it for this moment.

And even if there was one, the grand prize would definitely not be cash because a good number of people in this game do not have credit/debit cards. If they won, how would their prize(s) be sent to them ??

So there you have it :biggrin:

Reasons that would make perfect logical sense if most of the people here were over 15. Sadly, most of the people playing the game are between 7 - 14; therefore it's best to take the final say. NO Official tournaments :biggrin: Nowback to the money issue. That just doesn't sit well with anyone else in this communiy for the main reason that it'll GAIN money. The whole purpose of this project as stated a couple of times is to make a game free for the mass. Anyone who has a connection to the internet being able to play the game for free without hassle. And it'll stay that wayy. If there's a melt down and TMyApp needs money (which I doubt anytime soon).. then there are other ways he'll get it.. rather than "from this game". Donations like that only bring more unneeded attention to this game by big companies.. a la marve\|.. and even though you just put that aside as being one of the side problems... it IS actually the biggest problem this game would ever face. How to explain to all of you that the purpose of the game isn't to generate funds for either TMyApp OR SFO.. in any 'reasonable' sense known to mankind. Ergo... even though you might THINK it is for good reason, nothing good would ever come out from it... trust me, I had to learn that in a 25 paragraph epistle from TMyApp himself :biggrin: So until there's a basic change in the clockwork settings of SFO and a bit of maturity noticed by "us" in it's users, we'll have to keep things the wayy they are as far as tournaments go. Large scale unofficial tournaments can be held anytime though... but the word "official" is pushing it for this moment. And even if there was one, the grand prize would definitely not be cash because a good number of people in this game do not have credit/debit cards.
