I had this idea a while back...but i cant find it via the search feature...so im gonna post it again.
![]() The idea was to make getting a 'quick game' quicker. Instead of our current way...wich is player challanges player and you spend alot of time getting 'denied'. As well as getting a few "no sync's".. Or you open a chat chan..and wait...and wait....and no one shows up for a fight. All this waiting and no fighting stinks. So i was thinking...change the Quick Game to a first come first serve method. If you click the 'quick game' button you will imeaditly try to sync with the next available player in the chat room that is also looking for a 'quick game' If there is no sync...a box will appear stating it is trying to connect to the next available player looking for a quick game..then attempt to connect for a few seconds then move on to the next available player in the chat room until a sync is made...or the search is canceled...or after 5 cycles the search ends. Who will host? As each player activates their 'quick game' they are numbered...and the game works it's way numericaly through the numbered players. As each player makes a sync...they oblivously leave the room..and the servers attends to the next lowest number in it's list of clients to try and sync. Thats a rough idea...it's late for me..im tired and need some sleep...i'll tweek the rest later...but i think you get the idea. Edited By nosoul4evr on Feb. 17 2003 at 08:12

...That or you could just take my ole' "random fight" idea. Just join a certain server that's purely there for random fights, and you're paired up with the very next guy.
And that wouldn't even affect the current menu  The only problem would be getting someone to host the server. |

Even a random server would need to be programed so it knew who it could connect and who it couldnt...who should host and who shouldnt. Thats where my rendition of 'random fights' could come into play. A dedicated server for hosting random fights would be nice...but like you said...who's gonna host it? ??? them the breaks...even when you accept a traditional 'quick game' there is the great possibility of your oponnent picking a character you dont care for.
If you r worried about your score (wich is not a measure of skill )...then either host your own game...or join a friends game. The goal behind this is to cut the time we waste sitting in the chat room 'looking' for a fight....some of us ( like me ) like to contunualy fight...i personaly will fight the same person for as long as either of us can stand to battle each other. And when it come time to fight...people like me..want to fight NOW...not 20 minutes from now...or get denied by everyone simply because we're a VIP or very good fighter. A random match option added to the game could greatly reduce all the waiting alot of us go through...especialy when the only thing we come here to do is fight, and not socialize. I dunno about the rest of the players out there...But I rarely 'chat' when I enter a chat chan..i spend most of my time "clicking users" looking for a fight.
