Game not saving my stats

I played enough to unlock all the currently unlockable chracters from story mode (and even managed to reach rank 3 just from story mode - may have been a bug). However, recently all the characters have become locked again so i can only select Ryu and Bison in story mode. I tested to see if my stats are being recorded by beating story mode several times and raised my rage factor to 1. Then i exit SFO and come back. Result? Rage Factor is set back to -3. Every time i unlock characters and exit the game they are locked again when i next play. Anyone know what's up?
