Troy88: I find it... disturbing that I must defend my oppinion, but I guess that's why I made this topic (well, one of them reasons).

Where to start..?

First of all... where exactly did I say I admired Zing's posts for intelligence displayed?? No where. I said Dan has/had great logic, but NOTHING about logic in Zing's posts (although you'll find that by looking in old posts he did display quite a lot of it).

And fyi, Zing79 does NOT win his arguements by having the last word or "closing topics" as you put it (not from any threads I've ever read that is).
A clear example of when Zing79 (and Quass) is/are EASILY winning this debate against... stubborn people??.
Another example of Zing79 winning by supperior debating (and before he even had mod status too).
And yet he does it again (pg. 3).
And yet another...

Now tell me... does he not prove his poing beyond a reasonable doubt? It's also pretty obvious that he IS listening/reading the opposition's complaints... and what good is it? I dare you, just TRY and prove this guy wrong. I have yet to see ANYONE beat at proving a point Zing79, and I sure as hell ain't up to the challenge.

BTW, something I absolutly LOVE about his posts are these quick little "witty" catch-phrases.. :biggrin:

For every thread that you can find where Zing79 was winning a debate legitimately, I can find two more where he simply "had the last word," then locked the topic.

Zing is the type of person that won't shutup until either everyone is sick of arguing, and gives up, or the topic gets locked (by him, of course). Of course you can't win an argument with Zing. An argument with him as a never-ending one.

But what you have to understand is, you haven't truly won the argument unless you've changed your opponent's mind. Do you think he's ever done that?

These weren't even the best examples of how arrogant and rude Zing79 can be, and yet they are the same ones you try to defend him with. Notice how Zing just gets aggravated and calls the whole thing "retarded," while trying to imply that Token has the intelligence of a 14 year old (which I'm sure he doesn't). Of course he made sure to let everyone know that he himself had a PhD, which clearly demonstrates his arrogance.

I read most of that last thread. Selvin's initial topic starter certainly wasn't very well thought out, but Token presented himself VERY well. I found myself agreeing with him, in fact. Token's argument was every bit as logical as Zing's (and yes, I DO give Zing credit for being logical, for the most part), but ultimately, Zing wins. Not because he had the better argument (and he didn't), but because he's a MOD.

Notice how it says "best posters of ALL TIME. Also notice that I'm the one who made it and should know more then ANYONE who I was reffering to when I made it. The question is who do you think is or was the best poster. They don't have to be constantly posting right now.. they could have posted once on August 5th and never been heard from again (yes, the forum began Aug. 5th).

Ok, after reviewing it, there's 2 things I need to point out to you:

1. Realize that Token is doing the exact same thing that Zing79 is, and not only is he trying to have the last "say-so," but completly disregardes EVERTHING Zing and Quass say. Posts like "what fo you think a union is? they are trying to help the populous by requesting certain things, and being in a group does wonders. can you say thats wrong?" completly disregaurd any logic of TMy being the soul diety of the game. Token was being just as stubborn as Zing79. Your remark about Proffe$$or... Notice, again, how Zing79 IS trying to bring an end to it? He's not going on and on about it... once the point is apparent neither will be convinced of each other's views.. he puts an end to it (and no, it's not hiding behind his modship priviledges).

2. For some crazy reason you're under the impression that winning a debate is dependent on convincing the other guy of your oppinion. Now, I want you to do me a favor and look up the word "debate" both at home and at www.dictionary.com , and tell me where it says that the victor wins by convincing his opponent of his views.

And when you don't find it... remember back in the courthouses (the palaces of places to debate) and think... how often does one lawyer convince another of his views?? Never. Debate's arn't won by convincing someone of your views, it's by defending your beliefs the best. And what have you seen Zing79 do? Defended himself MORE then well enough above the competition on EVERY single one of his posts (and yes, I always have been "convinced" that Zing79 is right by his first post).

Simply put.. Zing79 is a the best poster because he can prove his point oh-so well, and defend himself better then anyone else I've ever seen (well, actually him and Quass are tied @ that).
