Say you are doing one on one tag and you do a level to crossover, you only have 1 option for the attack depending on which characters you choose. SPIDEY AND SENT will do maximum spider and plasma storm, CHUN-LI and RYU will do that ball move and a shinku hadoken.
Where as with this option you would be able to do a shinku hadoken with RYU then that big flame move with KEN, or two level one raging demons with 2 SHIN AKUMA (ouch that would hurt).
