can one of you tell me how or why someone is considered an illegal imigrant in the states and how they get a green card and what the green card does?

-They'll take up so many jobs that other people might want to have.

but they do it better and for lower wages, which is what a CEO wants. A CEO would rather have someone as an employee being paid less and working harder than an American that is complaining about "Dey tookr' jibs".

Who cares? There are other homes, besides, to live in a home you've always wanted (which is assumed to be a good home), you need lots of money, something illegal immigrants most likely don't have.

As free as America likes to advertise itself as, the term is used too friviously. If we were "free", then I can be "free" to steal and so on.

Not only that, but an illegal immigrant is 9/10 times (la times statistic) to be rejected to any job when there is a citizen applicant around.

I believe that is true, but mainly because of they might be "illegal", if they were legeal citizens who would work more for less pay, they would easily get the job. By the way, where did you get that stat from?

if you come into the country illegally, meaning you jump the border, (when i say jump, i actualy mean swim, jump, run, hide) and start their new lives.

green cards are things you get if you came here illegally, and married a citizen. making you a "Resident".

that is the easiest way to get the green cards, but there are other ways.

When someone wasn't born in the U.S. (so they obviously migrated into the U.S.) and doesn't have any form of a U.S. citizenship and/or a green card. I forgot how you get a green card (I believe it's from the government when you try to file something to the U.S. for citizenship recognition, but a green card tells you that you are a legal U.S. citizen that has came from another country.

I think that they way it works whether people want to believe it or not it is like this. If you want a state to protect\govern\allow you to have rights, you have to become a citizen. In essence the state/country and the individual must meet halfway both agreeing on certain terms.

For example: the governemt will enforce law, give you rights, protect those rights and so on, in return the citizen or person wanting to become a citizen must follow the set rules of that society, i think also the individual has to be productive in that society as well.The individual has to have a job pay taxes.

I think what it comes down to is that if the individual and the government don't establish the rules and meet half halfway the individual in essence has no rights or protection and the government losses the productivity that that person can add to the whole.


The question now is this, if the illegal immigrant doesn't meet half way regardless of the reason, should the government uphold any part of its end of the deal?

but does the government really hold it's part? (strickly speeking for america ofcourse)

i mean, we have racist cops running around beating people for their skin color. we have fire fighters who say "if you're black, i wont do my job" (prior to the LA riots), we have judges who are OPENLY RACIST, and only get noted on their record, not fired.

what does the government really give you if you become a citizen? i dont really see any form of "protection" that isnt already offered to everybody.

the only thing i can think of, is you have the opportunity to get a better job. some jobs do require you to be a citizen, but other than that, basically nothign.

(i might be over simplifying, correct me if i'm wrong.)

in many cases, it doesnt matter if you're legal, citizen, or illegal, people are gonna treat you badly. and it isnt because you're a bad person, eigther. sometimes it is because of reasons beyond your control.

now, i'll ask a question:

do you not think it fare for the government to open its doors to immigrants, after doing so much bad things to them?
(killing of indians, stealing of land, wars, ect)
