Reasons why mods (and tmyapp) should not have to put up with petitions:

1) Bitching: As tmy has clearly pointed out, petitions are and will be used as a form of bitching. People could and will bitch about anything they want (a group of ryu lovers might make a petition to get rid of wolverine for example).

2) Newbies: Real hardcore newbies might get the idea that petitions are okay and start making them for some real dumb ideas (a petition to add every character ever thought of in the entire streetfighter series for example).

3) Demands: If non-mods start getting the feeling that they have more than the power of suggestion they have too be 2pid. Think about it, you cannot "demand" anything at all in the game. This is tmy's free time and not his job, you are not his customers.

4) Rivalry: Simply put, speaking out against a popular petition (what I'm doing :biggrin can, and undoubtedly will turn people in the game against each other.

5) Time: The mods have enough to do without dealing with petitions. I'm sure every mod as well as tmy has a life which is not focused around an online game. Petitions ALWAYS require more work for the mods just by reading it.

I don't know if the mods and tmy hold all of these concerns, but you (for all non-mods) should consider these concerns before you go around making a petition for ANY reason.
