I disagree that it is a matter of marketing that made the game-makers jump on board the PSX bandwagon. It was the greater capacity on the disks that allowed them to do more.

PS3 is supposed to be around $499 when it comes out, and if they're still going to use the technology to have it communicate with other Sony technologies, it could cost over $2,000 to fully realize the PS3's capabilities.
