My dream or my pride - By micheal vitale

Is pride a sin,
If someone believes in a god,
With pride can they ascend,

Yes pride is a sin,
But the pride to improve,
The pride to be better....stronger faster..
To not allow your dreams to be crushed by physical or mental efforts of another,
That kind of pride is determination.....that pride can not be a sin.

I'm not a man but a boy with dreams,
I stare at my hands they aren't even full grown,
They aren't the size of a man's hands but the spirit in them alone,

My voice has a strong tone,
When I step into a contest I'm in the zone,
I know that victory will be mine I've already decided this alone,

You can't defeat me,
I'm a wall I stand tall my spirit is always ready to brawl.
As silent as the wind,but as graced as the thunder,
Trying to put me down is simply calling out your own number.

When I reach the top my hands will be rough and dirty,
My arms will be firm.....and my eyes will be focused.
Today I'm a boy of dreams....tomorrow I will be a man of pride...

I'll be a marine.....known as THE BYRD???
