13. A boy is 4 years old and his sister is three times as old as he is. When the boy is 12 years old, how old will his sister be?
16 20 24 28 32
cause if i folow my caculation and reasoning on what has been asked... the real answer is not in there ! example: 3 times as old as he is BOY = 4 SISTER = 12 TEEN BOY = 12 OLDER SISTER = 36 (that answer is not there) unless i made a mistake somewhere ! then that test is completely wrong ! Quote:
26. Two cars start off at the same point on a straight highway facing opposite directions. Each car drives for 6 miles, takes a left turn, and drives for 8 miles. How far apart are the two cars?
2 miles 11 miles 14 miles 20 miles 26 miles
no answer in the possibilities ! STRAIGHT HIGHWAY, so they can't turn left... so its 6 miles away for one car, double that cause they are two cars... the normal answer would be 12 and even if they could turn... that's 14 miles for one car, double that cause there are two cars, the answer would be 28 i ask you, how come the answer is suppose to be there and is really not ? unless people have probles calculating theses days, those cannot even be right ! EDIT: well, actually... you would need to calculated the direct line between both cars... BTW, i got 122 and they say i am a VISUAL MATHEMATICIAN which means i easily see patterns in mathematics and shapes ! as in this... 1 2 4 7 11 1(+1), 2(+2), 4(+3), 7(+4), 11 but its actual just a matter of looking closely, so i do not think i'm that good compared to any other like they say. anyone who would not rush in and say anything, would actually found those things ! like i said, i am with TARK... that doesn't seems right ! I doubt that though, but I guess people do trust my instincts and turn to me for direction sometimes. If I had to label my self I would pick being creative and inventive.

4 x 3 = 12 that's true, but when the boy has 12 years, 8 years will have passed which increases the older sister's age by 8 not triple it, so instead of 12 x 3 = 36, it's 12+ 8 = 20.

actually, for the 20 years, i didn't saw the problem that way... that's why i didn't answered back !
and for the two car things... guess you missed the EDIT: i made a while ago... i said that you needed to calculate the direct line between both ! but, it still have a problem in this IQ test... cause as you can see, i'm far from being a mathematicien, and that test says i'm a great one ! so basically, that says the wrong thing about me ! i didn't cheated, since i had to answer... i just hitted random answers and if those happenned to be good, then this test is completely false to me ! that's why it isn't a good test, there should have been a button called... I DON'T KNOW ! that would have made the test even more accurate !

i got 126,(an ispired inventor) and it doesnt matter what age you are, an iq test is calculated wit your mental age(how many questions you got right) over your birth age(how old you are). I also hope no one got less than 70 cause then you would be legally mentally retarded. (im serios)
