that might be to do with the "dash" option, if you leave it turned on, all you have to do is keep pressing back (or away) from your opponent and your hyper bar will fill up easily. Even more so if your opponent is trying to attack.

A very good way to fill up your hyper bar, quickly without risking being hit!
I use it quite often... except don't fall into the trap of trying to do it too much, cos every tactic has its drawback eventually
