ppl if youwant faster fps get more ram, upgrading the processor to lets say 2.0ghz from 1.0ghz aint gonna do much, it is worth more while to upgrade the ram to 1.0gb if youhave a 256mb or ram to start wid.

aye.. well, if you're gonna be upgrading ur PC Processor, then make sure you've got the correct equipments.. ie fans to cool the damn thing

But basically, I've got two playing bases where I get excellent game play.. so to say :-)

a 256 RAM with 2.3ghz processor and a dial up moderm.. isn't too bad if you ask me.. just as long as you haven't got anything on Kazaa (if you use it) .. or too many pages loading on IE.. with an FPS of 37.7777, your game play wouldn't suck that much

On that other hand, I also play on a T3 connection, with 1.9 ghz processor and 125 worth of RAM.. speed yes... FPS .. you've got it
So basically trying to balance out the good parts of the PC.. ie your connection (internet) and computer performance is what elevates ur mode of game play. It doesn't have to be at optimum.. just something that would give you a good amount of frames per second.. and nice speed.. and you're good to go

actually RYUSREVENGE, ram is only a STORAGE SPACE, the CPU and VIDEO CARD does all the work !

so upgrading th eram doesn't speed up anything, it just gives your data more space thus enabling your cpu to stuck there temporarely more data while he processes all the data you sent to it !

but to have better performances, just a video card is enough to pump your fps to like, double the amount you have before !

example...
MX440 64 = 30-35 FPS
now...
TITANIUM 4200, = 40 at all time !

so the better your video card, the best gameplay you'll have... why ? because by today's standard the video card does all the graphic processing so the cpu has a lot less to do, so the better your VIDEO CARD the less your CPU will have to do !

but upgrading the ram is not gonna do anything unless you change for ram that is faster then your old ones...

and the CPU in MATHS (primary job) is always the best. the more you have CPU wise, the fastest the coordinates and all will be processed !

this is why it is the processor that dictates the computer speed, not anything else !

in any case, if you want the easy solution not so cheap yet no so costly... buy a new video card and make sure its a latest great model... this way you make sure you don't have any GRAPHIC ISSUES, thus making sure FPS will always be pumped to its max !

umm ssj the hard disk is for storage space, the ram speeds up the computer, allows u to do multiple tasks faster, i agree the graphics card also helps u, and the more ram the graphics card has the betta, i think it goes up to a huge 256mb in come graphics cards,i did say the processor speeds up the computer also, but it is more cost effective jsu to upgrade your ram if youhave a 1.00ghz processor.

RAM = RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY
thus the RAM is also a storage place, but it is a short term storage place generally holding these...

- the programs while they run
- Textures in some games when you don't have enough ram on your video card
- Everything that swap file can't handle !
- program variables
- Configurations

see... the ram is a storage place, or else why would more ram be better in a video card ?
its simple, textures are taken from hard drive, but to faste4n things a bit (not much) it puts them into RAM. but if there isn't enough space to hold the RAM it uses the hard drive which is basically twice slower then the ram itself !

trust me RyusRevenge, more then 256 ram doesn't change anything to the gameplay now a days ! same goes for the CPU ! it is more and more not needed since everything else in the computer can do the same as it does ! game wise at least !
