I might work, but I think you would also need to use MvC1's thing of only letting you use it a limited number of times, unlike MvC2 where you can do it as many times as you like.
The problem with making use of helpers unlimited is that people would OVERuse them - in a game where lag is an issue I don't think it work too well. Someone might constantly use it again and again, and like you said in another thead, that ends up with more data being transfered... yeah, it could work, but only if a limit on its use was put on.
