When I fight sometimes the other person doesn't take any damage at all. I can do 3 supers in a row on him and he takes no damage.

This is caused by lag.
Client side prediction algorithms should help to solve this problem when they are implemented in the future. However, you can only do so much if you experience lag of over 400. If you would like to know your ping, it is displayed on the top of the game window, just to the right of the |

so if i'm like battling someone on a cable I will always have this problem?(me being on a 56k)
Its a really fun game but it gets really hard when the other person takes no damage. |

It is not the fact that the other person takes no damage, its just that your moves are arriving late/later on his end (ie: if you punch, but he gets punched 2 seconds later because of the lag).
On your end however, it seems like you are beating the crap out of this guy, and nothing is happening. If it makes you feel better, the guy on the other end is experiencing the exact same thing (gotta love lag). There are a number of plans in progress to help the lag issue, but, as always, you will have to wait until they get implemented ![]() |

There was a VERY nasty bug, which could have also increased this problem. It looks like if the person would hold down
