Question about characters - Do story mode wins count?

When you win a match in story mode, does that count to your victories in unlocking characters?

You will be able to unlock characters...BUT..it will not go down as an official win. You have to fight other online players.

Same goes for wins/losses. They will count when u fight other online players.
