Sfo official clan draft

Reliable captains should be assigned and there should only be about 5 to 8 official clans in SFO.

Then, a clan draft should be held where players are up for grabs (no n00bs included) and once they are picked they are tied down to their clan (to prevent any clan whores from sprouting that jump to 1,000 clans in one month). The members should be tied down to their clans for about 6 months or so.

THEN, once someone is in a clan, TMyApp should put clan tags on their names in SFO. Whether it be a symbol or a tag like [ald] beside their names at all times. This is far fetched but an idea.

This would make a clan mean something... and the official clan private threads should be hosted here.

Far stretched eh?? Well, sure it is... considering the fact that the clans have nothing to do with SFO per say.

They are a property of... you guessed it.. battle-grounds. So until clan battles, or clan representations, practices, recruiting and what not become an actual part of Street Fighter Online then I doubt anything of that nature would be done. :biggrin:

And that's another reason people have tried to replace BG with forums and such that invite clans to come and hold their stronghold meetings with them and such... it's just the way it is. The clans live for SFO and not vice versa.. and thus, SFO will very much survive without the clans.

And besides, who'll come out and choose the 5 - 8 reliable captains?? TMyApp??

And last but not list, your idea of "no n00bs" is far fetched.. for who's to decide who or what a n00b is in SFO. If there's a clan organization, then I belive everyone should be involved. Whether you're considered to be a vet, n00b, wombat, half demon, full blood, human or even sage. :biggrin:

they have already proposed this, i came up with at least 20 reasons why this idea was horrible. just take our word for it, it'll never happen.

blanka09: It had been said by many mods and admins. There is no "official" place for clans. Any other forum whether it is invisionfree, proboards, etc, is just as official as BG. There is no such thing as a replacement of BG because they are all equal forums. There is no "official" forum where all clans meet for the millionth time. If there is any forum that is a replacement it is BG itself against the senshuk but we all know that the reason is because of Quass's "senshukentaikai is taking up too much bandwidth" excuse. If senshuk was still up, there would be no such thing as BG.

And also, this forum used to have clans posting here back in 2001. I say this because I used to be in the xXXx clan which was way before senshuk. *Just to give you some sort of history about this forum*.

True.. not all critics make the right decision in cases.. especially movies. They flame a movie and the movie makes millions in the box office.. and not only movies but other things as well :biggrin:

However, I and I'm pretty sure VF too.. but in all honesty wasn't criticising the idea. It's a good idea.. no doubt.. if you're into "team" stuff and it can be organized fairly for everyone in the game. I mean.. why would you want to start a "feature" that would only be accessible to members that are regarded as "vets" instead of all the ppl that play the game. :biggrin:

but unfortunately, it's just not possible. Street Fighter Online has nothing to do with the clans.. the clans were the portion of BG that was affiliated with SFO.. and not vice versa. That's the major reason that with the prolonged downtime of BG, you're witnessing a situation where the clans have kinda become extinct. And don't forget the fact that SFO's still growing bigger.. check DWX Chronicles... TLF and even the event that would end all other events.. DWX!

So without BG.. no clans.. and since the clans aren't official to SFO, the suggestions' too flawed to take hold. It's a pretty fair one though.. no doubt :biggrin:

Hmm... I had posted my earlier reply before reading urs.. but never the less, I'll say this.

I may not be in.. with all the 2k1 history of PX cause I only started playing when I started college in 2002. but from what I honestly know now (not with the past) there won't be "SFO clans" in this particular forum. :biggrin:

Sure other clans that are "invisionfree" and what not.. are all equal as far as fansites stand and where BG is placed. but if you take a survey, you'll notice that most of the members of the community affiliate BG with the clans of Street Fighter Online. That's the main reason why other forums that tried to host clans get flamed... wrongly.. but not without reason.

And even though there isn't any "official" home.. that's just making SFO the ideal world. Of course everyone knows that when you talk about clans, the first Forum ... (no matter how equal it is to others) we refer to is battle grounds.

Thanks for the history lesson though.. knowledge is power :biggrin:
