first castlevania was ok, yet it didn't had any real gameplay... expect for the story it was still good...
but the second game was the best during that time... i mean, day and night cycle, first game to ever have that in it ! think you were safe because you were in a village, guess again, once in the night time was up... the whole village changed to a new crowd, composed of demons, ghouls and zombies ! pretty damn good game if you ask me, too rough to complete tho, at least for me ! the third... great graphics... but they came back with the same kind of play fromt he very first game ! N64 one, too damn cheezy sorry but that kind of game wasn't really made for it to be 3D ! PSX... now the legend was stupid, same as N64 ! CASTLEVANIA : SYMPHONIE OF THE NIGHT that was the best game of castlevania ever, right after CASTLEVANIA : VAMPIRE'S KISS on snes ! conclusion... 1 and 3 were ok, but not awesome ! 2 was great but hard 4 had nothing too cool expect for the whip everywhere system ! 5 was just fliping awesome and i liked the supers in it ! (AKA, zillions of knife move) other castlevania on the different consoles eafter it were between poor and awesome ! some were difnitely great others were definitely poor ! its just a matter of opinion now. but castlevania is definitely one i love to play ! 2D if far from being done with, its still a nice and great action packed combo's with 3D ! example... MEGAMAN X6 very great... but that kinda of game surely wasn't made for it to be 3D ! not ANIME game are supposed to be 3D and no type of scroller can be 3D ! tho there are differences... but the gameplay usually changes and thus the game sucks if not well done !

I think that some Zelda game can take that contest.

i dont care what people say but the n64 zelda (not majora!) was great. i loved the plot. i wish there were a way to get a nicely put toghether zelda game with beautiful graphics on the pc or on the xbox... ^_^ that would be nice. and i like how he looked in the n64 version. this is a time where i disagree with miyamoto. lol.

id like a nice... drive around the town and interact with other peeps online... i mean a real world sim... REAL WORLD... where you have criminals, and bla bla bla... and everyone picks what they wanna be. id be a ninja! (lol real world eh?) or a hacker! but lately only few games have been released that were great... i bet halo 2 is gonna be the bomb. i do like the sonic adventure game im gonna get for xbox since its just a dream come true of a 3d game with good graphics.. realization of the original!... i stick to jet set just cus its cute. doa3 just has nice graphics... and its fun to play at a party, but if i actually had to pick between buying a gba or sushi... welll id go for sushi lol. i got bored of the handhelds.tooo small of a screen! we need REAL virtual reality. something to do in the plane or train. maybe a connection direct to ur BRAIN?

It is difficult to quantify what game is the best overall. Games need to measured on the ultimate impact on the video game industry, and the way things are done, and not on sales, or how many fan boys swear by it as their Holy Bible.
Street Fighter II started a revolution, showing the real interest and marketability of fighting games as a whole. It launched a massive fervor for many years of a real barrage of fighting games, launching an almost entirely new genre. Heck, it LAUNCHED the fighting genre into the mainstream. Easily the most important fighting game ever. Final Fantasy VII brought many revolutions to the table for RPGs. It showed the real interest in a 3-D RPG, and showed the effectiveness of pre-rendered scenes at conveying story. It, unfortunately, didn't leap light-years ahead in story-telling or expressive music (FFVI was much better at expressive music). No truly unique gameplay elements either. Street Fighter II is the winner here. Did so much more for its genre. Edited By Dan Hibiki on April 17 2004 at 00:30

yet Chrono Trigger is still very played and talked about even today !
the remake on PSX is there to proove this theory, so basically RPGs comes very close if not more then street fighter II ! be my guess and continu to think fighting game were great back then ! they wer eonly because it seemed to be only fighting games and racing games in the arcades back then, nothing more ! for my part i liked adventure games more then fighting games, but it seemed like the company prefered the fighting games so they always replaced every other things for fighting games, and more then likely it wasn't changed on demands, as soon as a fighting game came out it was there, may it stupid or great ! in any case... many RPG's that were on the SNES were great as well and are still talked much today. so i guess the fighting genre is long gone behind the RPG genre which will never be replaced !

RPG's always attract more people who use the internet or gamefaqs.[/quote] yeah there right
