Man, if people here are going to base how good a game is by how many characters they have in the game, then capcom vs snk2 owns all the verses game. It has the largest varity of fighters, either you're a kof fan or you like the old school street fighter, then thats you're game.
But in MVC2, you have characters that just dont make any sense and are unless, or that they are used solely for the purpose of using them as a helper to setup an infinity, like Blackhart and psylock.

Personally I only think an infinite is cheap if its an easy inifite to do.
First of all, where's the fun in tapping in a combination for an infinite combo? It's meant to be a fighting game, not one of those dancing games where you tap buttons and directions.
Also, if you beat someone with an infinite combo then do you really feel like "you've won"?
I think it's cheap to win without letting your opponent fight back. I don't mean that it's cheap to beat somebody mercessily, but if they literally can not do anything to fight back then you're just cheap.
If you win by doing infinite combos then the only challenge is getting the first hit in, which must be so boring. When you have a game as diverse as Marvel Vs Capcom 2, what's the point in only playing on a glitch to get your victory?
If you're capable of doing an infinite combo and you're playing against someone who can do an infinite and you're both prepared to use them, then playing the game no longer becomes about "the fight", it becomes all about getting the one hit in which means the opponent can't win and you do.
It takes more skill to beat a person with relexes and good stragedy. I find that in most cases where someone is trying to do an infinite on me they are waiting... waiting... waiting... then BAM!!! They lay it on you and just cycle through button presses. I know a couple guys who don't even look at the screen. Explain to me how this is skillful?
only people that rely on infinites are the people who claim to be the best but need the infintes to win

I don't bother to learn them cause I think that just beating the other to a pulp with just regular, simple ground and air combos is more humiliating than beating someone with something they can't get out of......
