Hopefully, this project becomes a success. I want input from knowledgeable people (basically, people who won't post stupid posts or don't back up their posts). If you post, make sure you have a reference of your posts, meaning, back it up! What I want to do here is:
-Find out the best players are in the game -Compare different eras (2001 vs. 2004 for example) -Fighters reactions -Debate! What I want to start out with is posting a top 25 list (In no particular order) for each month in the game (August 2001, September 2001, etc...). After we have done that, we can deduct to who was the best for each month. And then start deducting for each month of the game, till we get to who was the best in the game. *sigh* That is what a project is all about, researching. Look, this is what we should do, we should research the generation we are most familiar with. For example, since I was here at the near start, I could research from August 2001 to February 2002. And someone, like Pip could research from June 2002 to December 2002 (Remember that this is just an example). If you want me to explain more, this is how it will be. You put in your top 25 players for a specific month and you tell why he was a top 25 for that specific month. I know there will be biased views and that's why I made this topic, so we can come up with a good conclusion.

Retrace your steps, remember what year he/she was from and try to check the score archive if you need further help. By the way, that is not a good list, it needs to have more fighters and a specific year and keep it organized. |

2004 can not compare to 2001. There were alot more skilled fighters in 2001 than there is now. Everyone says that this "new generation" is more advanced than the 2001 fighters. but I will prove that it is not true.
I was never considered an elite fighter in 2001 or was even known. All I had was people flaming me all the time that I was some lagging lucky bastard. And now I actually get people to notice some of my skill. And it is hilarious how people bring up the same names and put them on their top 5 fighters ever. One name for example is RyuInvasion. Now don't get me wrong, he is an OK fighter but way too overrated. Most say he is GREAT. I laugh about it all the time because I am 6-0 against him. And my brother finds him quite easy as well. This is why I think this can not work because all they are going to do is put their buddies in a list. Always when I see RyuInvasion on number one in someone's list, I think I should be in that list as well. Don't take it to offense. I guess I just don't get TOO NOTICED. I wish everyone in this game was REGISTERED in 2001 for they can FIGHT a great fighter FROM 2001 and see the big difference in skill BETWEEN 2001 AND THE 2004 FIGHTERS. Now the debate starts. a lot of the 2004 generation suck, but some people are good, and then people say that the 2001 generation is the best, jus tbecuase they are so called vets? they may have been good back then but the game has changed since then. |

Now I'm not saying that 2001 0wNzOrS j00!!!1111. It may have been a long time ago, but we tried to learn strategies everyday, which strategies would work and which didn't. it seems that people today aren't doing that so much, even though there are more guides, there is less strategy conversation. I used to be on the chats discussing with other people about "advanced" Ryu strategies, believe it or not, it was more than hadouken into super. 2001 also had the will to be the best, which meant people would challenge stronger fighters and even if they kept losing, they got better (Fear-Tetsuo for example). 2004 has this, but it's not mainstream enough and it's a hassle just to get into a fight. People fight for rank now more than they do to be the best. Maybe it's because of the lack of quality tournaments, but if you constantly battle something that's better than you, it will make you even better than fighting for rank. Beating a ####ie who can only punch and kick or only knows basic strategies won't get you much better, it might even regress your skill, but facing a challenge will improve your confidence and witts. |

Fear-Tetsuo in my opinion was the best fighter to play the game. Everyone might disagree right now just because they only have fought him when he came back his few little times. but if they were to fight him before, they would know how great he was. Some right now even make their own b/s history v.s. fear-tetsuo just because of jealousy of how good he turned out to be. I rank fear-tetsuo in 1st and TarkanX 2nd best to play the game.

Since i started the game at the end of 2002, i guess i'll pick a month in 2003... hmm... lets go for November 2003 since i believe i was pretty damn good at this time. In No particular order, and not including duze
1. asrbwettaw - I believe him to be the best all time, only person at this point in time i had troubles beating. 2. RyusRevenge - At about this time, Revenge and I were about the same skill level, we trained together, teamed together.. and he was pretty damn good. 3. Doomtrain - At this time i thought he was a tuff opponent 4. DcMax - good ryu user 5. Tidus42 - he was good ryu user at this time 6. kayCEE - he had a great sentinel 7. illfusion - gave me good ryu games 8. TAKEOVER - his sent and ryu were really good.. 9. -dark hado- - good ryu user 10. (x-f)Xavier - good ryu user 11. Resident Evil - good user in general 12. Fighter 001 - knows how to pull off wins for clan battles 13. Dark Masta - good chun 14. Maori Legend - good sent 15. And1 - great ryu 16. Da Vipa - great ryu 17. Blanka 09 - good spidey 18. Hollis - good spidey and ryu 19. Sbyrd5 - I dont think hes ever beaten me ryu vs ryu one on one. but hes a cool guy 20. Maximum carnage - one of the best spideys even tho i think they are fkin cheap 21. Batojitsu - same as max carnage 22. Tidus2k2 - his ryu was good 23. pip99 - i hear hes good 24. example, when i came in for the first time i was good at street fighters game, not an expert but definitely not an amature that could go down easily. yet when i joined this place every single member could easily wipe me out. thus even if i was from 2001, i wasn't a skilled fighter, skills dear friends, isn't something you had right int he start, you learned it and gained it little by little, maybe some of you got it faster then others, but many took a long time to get it ! i took 3 years to become the great fighter i am now. i still didn't master ryu, i still don't know how much wolver |

I remember when I fought asre back in feb 2002, I barely paid attention to the fight and would win. I would walk over him in a wt for a win, I was surprised to see him play like a maniac after I came back but I just thought he got better, although I suspected there was something terribly wrong with his speed. pip for your information, asrbwettaw did not use speed gear... yes i had a conversation about bob using it, but i never did mention that he himselfused it. and his record now... 65-13... i dont knowbout you, but its a good record to me, and the fact that i teamed up with him about 5 of those times and losing are cause i died rite off the bat due to lag. See the problem with you people is, if you can't beat someone, you claim that they are a cheater.. well this game is uncheatable with the exception of speedgear. ever occur to you that he can be that good.

I started fighting during Oct. 2001,but my best memories are of 2002. So I'm just going to list those I feel were the best during that year. Besides, dominicankid098 has 2001 covered pretty well. but if I have to list ppl during 2001 since I was there, then everyone that was on dominicankid's list.
