I believe that religion is just a synonym for way of life.
so whether you like it or not you have a religion. for example: one can say, "I dont believe in supreme beings" his religion/way of life is that of doing anything he pleases because hes just some organism stuck on some planet for 80 years, then his meaningless life ends. |
I don't think there is a solution or some sort of a decisive decision, whether or not Religion is good or bad, seeing how this topic is all about opinions, thus resulting in conflicts and arguements.

ive noticed..that we live in a very satrical world...we have seperation of church and state but yet we have "In God We Trust" on our currency, or "One Nation Under God" for our pledge, and the Ten Commandments in the Supreme Court of Texas. Or how we have Homosexuals who want to gain authroity in the Church. Or how we have Muslims declaring "jihad" on innocent beings when it says in Quran not to harm the harmless/innocent. I really dont think you should have a strong hatred toward religion..i Dunno if VF hates religion but maybe despises it a little. Some people in the world, thier lively conduct is revovled by their religion. My relatives back home, they have soo much love for me and my family, because they learned how to respect and accept other beliefs and ideas, they dont have to believe in it but accept it, because they learned from thier religion self respect as in any other religion. Or how about Buddhism for example, a very peaceful religion..well i may not say religion because Buddhism stresses on experience, and experience is something that can never be taught. And people differents views of the 8 fold path (right actions, right words, right thoughts, right mindfullness.....) lead them to different solutions. Well back to the subject, Buddhists, MOST are very very peaceful people. They stress on right conduct of life to search the meaning of life and self. What iam trying to say is that, Religion is the foundation for some peoples lives and it does lead them to the right actions.

as i said before... religion is barely something the people created for they needed to believe in a higher power because ofthe fact that the world was non-sens, and like many said religion didn't help it like people wanted it. it actually worsened the thing ! examples... hitler and his thing agianst that people during WWII, he thought god had created the nazi to be better then the others thus he created a war on GOD'S BEHALF ! those supposed HOLY WAR too were bullpoop yet they hapenning on GOD'S BEHALF ! many wars hapenned on GOD'S BEHALF and seriouslky i don't think it was meant to be that sadistick ! see, without religion, mabybe thing would have been far less then what we experienced int he last 2000 years of existence ! so basically god and all religion are nothing more thne human trying to acknoledge their lives because they can't believe they just happen to be there living, they needed a reason to exists and to acknoledge that reason they created the religion a common belief that many people could share so they could think their lives means something ! for me its as simple as that ! VF, talk about religion like you do to SBYRD5 and BLANKA09 and see what i meant by they take it too seriously, i can't stress more the fact that over here at this forum... more then 10 active members think god is the ultimate being and that those who believe otherwise are nothing more then lost people ! |

Relgion is a way of connecting to the other side.
Like me, im Lutherian (95 thesus ring a bell?) and I have different belifes from many of the ppl I work with. (incase your woundering where I work at, I work at Capcom, Japan) most of the time religion gets invalved in Japan. I wish that I didnt live in Japan as a christian but yet I have to live with that. well everyone in this world has a beliefe..regardless if it is connected to God or Not. Ive seen and know people who dont have a relgious background have better conduct than people who are religous..and vice versa. when it comes down to it..it always what you do with your heart and mind

Yes, for you. Lets start with the basics, I keep reading statements like..., "god doesn't exist and Religion is something created in order to have something to believe in". I higly disagree with that statement. Several people in this topickept mentioning God/gods. What is god?god is not a name, god is a substance of worship. It might be something you admire, praise, idolize, worship, etc. It can be described in many ways. For example: There are some people in world, that worship the sun, the moon, and mars...., thus making them gods as well. If people/things worship me, then that makes me a god as well, lol. But HIM, that I personally know and millions of other "real christians" know that he has a name and he is God..., and He truly "exist". Whether you believe it or not, millions to testify. I believe there is a picture in Washington D.C. A picture about supernatural cloud that appeared in 1964... And Religion was NOT created in order to believe in "something", religion exists because God loves worship. |
