well.. there were a number of important changes done in 0.2r (most NO one will notice), but one stands above the rest... "jump lock"
as we all know (or if u dont know, u will now) "super jumps" create quite a bit of Lag (it's just how it is)... and, over the last few weeks/months, a new trend/strategy has be developing: non-stop super jumping
people do it all the time... they do a move, super jump behind u, do a move again... and so on
it may seem like "fun" to them (they may even think it is a "good" strategy) but in the end, u have a game with 10-20 sec lag, and a poor guy on the ground who can't hit crap...
it is annoying and "cheap" (@least i think so).
so, from now on, u will only get 3 super jumps... and, once you use them up, u will get one more every 10 seconds... for an average player, this doesn't mean anything (u prob won't even notice the change), but, for the rest, u will now see the words "jump lock" (can u guess what happens when u do ??) :biggrin:
super jumps are used for 2 things (primarily), to get out of the corner traps, and to start an air combo (which doesn't matter @ this point)
post u'r comments here.... but be warned, bitching will get you no where... jump lock is here to stay... and it will take a LOT of intelligent discussions to change my mind :biggrin:

Any fool who plays this new version and doesn't realize he's better off has lost his mind.
Before saying that its still laggy, ask yourself this: How many supers you waste your last match?
thats the main reason it was put in (along with reducing lag).
No more 9 wasted supers...enjoy :biggrin:

The only time I ever saw anybody super jump in the arcades was to avoid a super move, get out of a corner, or to do an air combo. The reason people abuse it so much here is that the super jump has much more horizontal distance in this online game than in the original (originally you could hardly go half the screen's distance horizontally with a super jump).

you know that supers are done lots and lots on this game and you know that cyclops mega optic blast s only super jumpable so you telling me that when he will be in here there will be no way to avoid supers.
i mean i always super jumps to avoid supers move but you mean that i will be forced to block and lose some life without the chance to retalliate cause the guy always use supers against us !
i dont blame u to stop people from always super jump it is right that it is cheap but for me here is why i super jump:
1- to get away from the people
2- to pass above supers and hit the ennemy
3- to get away from corners
believe me people always use one of the three point here so you mean that i will be forced to let myself be beaten cause the guy is too stupid to know that super are not for immediate use and them all all at once.
ok the jump lock is good but i must say that supers could be lock too cause people will rely on them now !
just a suggestion so dont blast me for this tread !

You didn't read the whole thread... you start with three super jumps, and when you run out, the super jumps are 'refilled' by getting one every 10 seconds. They aren't gone... just limited.

TMyApp, you should also put a ban on how many times a player can use Wolverine's Drill Claw, i'm tired of the cheapos that go the entire battle using only one move, like the drill claw. in most cases, my helper or a super jump are the only way to get out of a drill claw barrage. With the superjump and the helpers being limited, or even just slowed, it will be harder to avoid these cheapos. This shouldn't be considered bitching, but just a suggestion on limiting powerful moves that newbies and cheapos just keep abusing

No, it shouldn't... there is no reason. Just use a weak punch to stop them as they get ready to do it, or use a Shoryuken as the Drill Claw comes at you. Any retarded one-stepper can be stopped by the brute force of logic. But let's keep things on topic here...

Thx TmyApp. The only thing other then that that I wish is for some people to stop throwing so many supers but Im not complaing this is a great improvement so that the people who are always losing because of annoying super jumps will get a chance to win now. Now on to chun-li she will be the only one who can jump high right. So she can super jump anyway i think.

This should be great, but I have to get used to it, just like dashing....
I'm happy with the new version. It seems I will be able to FINISH my matches without the clock ending it for me. Much more fun than infinite super jumps.
Just a Question: Chun-li's triple jump is gone (not that this is a bad thing by any means), did you do this on purpose?

um.. i couldnt load (the screen was blank) when i used aol, and sometimes i super jump because of lag and try to settle it and the opponent will appear, but it doesnt matter much.. (gotta try it first :))

Well i just got done having the most exciting game with TarkanX( he says that sarcastically). Our game consisted of taking turns firing hadukens at each other for the whole game, with an occasional super jump. Zing how is this making it more fun and fair by limiting our super jumps? People just taking turns firing hadukens at each other isnt fun. If you run out of super jumps your screwed, that isnt fair. I havent seen a reduction of lag in my fights because of this jump lock. This DEMO wasnt ment to act like the FINAL VERSION, by limiting the super jump all you are doing is taking away an essential part of the ORIGINAL game. I know you think this is one step toward getting like the real thing, but it isnt. Why cant you take out things that the game doesnt need right now,like flashing power meters, the numbers that come up when you hit your oppenent, the music, the whole backround, you know things that the game doesnt need right now as a DEMO. You can take out anything, but the essential aspects of the game should stay and not be limited. I just dont see why you cant just put up with this until the FINAL VERSION comes out, I mean you have for the past 4 or 5 months. Well anyways this is my opinion and suggestions on this new version.

Would Tarkans left nut please SHUT the fuck up!! This feature came out last night and you already have a shit load of complaints motherfucker you are the only one bitching so much. The new feature dont bother me at all since i'm on 56k(it actually gives me a better chance since everything else screws me over) And how long have you been playing the VS.'s series people DONT JUMP BACK AND FORTH IN THE REAL GAME. So why should it be done here?
Your answer.. Cause you know they cant keep up when you do that.

one question..
how many super moves you waste in your match?
that is how I KNOW you're not lagging as much...
You should NEVER run of super jumps...if you do, then your ass is using it WAY too much to begin with.
I barely get blasted with super moves because I WAIT to use my super jump for when I know my opponent is going to blast me.
and one last thing...how is THIS technique ANY different then your jump kick, jump kick, jump kick technique your ass was doing before the jump lock was introduced?
at least now when I hit you with a super I know your ass hasn't lagged the game to the point where NOTHING I do will hit you.
this version is BETTER...you're the only one who seems to think otherwise...and oddly enough you are also one of the reasons this was introduced.
hmmm...seems your awesome "technique" doesn't work anymore, and you're a little bitter.
you'll have to learn to actually play the game from here on in fear.
good luck to you, but this jump lock aint goin anywhere.

fear: all the effects you are talking about do NOT lag the game... even if they are taken out, it will NOT make any difference... (since they are all client side)
2nd... i have NEVER seen ANYONE super jump more often than every 10 sec in the arcade... so i can't imagine why ANYONEN would like a laggy, pathetic, "i can't hit crap cause the bastard won't stay on the ground" game....
3rd, how exactly do we "put up with it till the final version comes out" ?? do you think that with use of some sorta' magic the final version will be nothing like the "demo" ?? cause let me tell you what will happen... one day u'll come back, and it will switch from a "demo" to a "full ver"... but the code will be 100% the same... its just that the "demo" would have gained enough features by then to be called a "full version"...

Good choice. At this point I would wait forever for the next character just so lag is better. But, what I really wanted to say is that just becuase I can't see most of the changes, I think you should clear up those problems first, before you worry about things that will please everyone else. Plug away, and don't worry if security changes are all you fix.

i hate exchanging fireballs... i try to close in at them but they hadouken away and super jump.. they just care about ranks and points..(i could name a few)...

and this new upgrade came from ppl whining about ppl super jumping too much.. and u guys may be one of them... and SilverSythe, thats the smartest thing i've heard all day! :)

Well now that I have gotten used to the jump lock I dont really have a problem with it. I am playing about the same as before except that matches are closer now then they were before. Even though I dont prefer the jump lock, I dont really mind it all that much. Oh and sorry about the bitching before.

ok im gonna be straight to the point !!!!
super jump lock is great but when its not for nothing that ALL the caracters FK hit HIGH
i mean that ryu Roundhouse kick hit the ennemy that are above him chun-lee doing same with her vertical like kick
wolvie and his double upercut claw like thing
and cyclops will be doing his backflip kick !!!!
in the nutshell people who get over are being by under it is as simple as that if people didnt get that move are better than supers or anything than they miss the whole fighting point !
and yeah that's right people only want to be in the top 250 player in the WORLD and there is almost 3000 person now that are playing so being in that score now is almost impossible so ill say this KEEP playing thing fair and square and HAVE FUN !

*cough*... there are 5645 people registered in the top scores, but ONLY because i trim the #### thing...
so in reality, people are trying to be in the top 250 out of 90,000...
the 3k is just the number of members in the forum, and not the game (i just HAD to mention that) :biggrin:

Well TMyApp, you're one step ahead of me, I was gonna give you that an idea as well (to cut the list into small so it'll *probly* help lag).
And by the way, Fear, if this game was an emulator... then we wouldn't get to play other fighters or ge ranked high (But there is an emulator which might be "Netplay", but thats far frolm now). If you don't care about fighting other people, or getting ranked high... then I suggest you just go buy/borrow the real game "Marvel vs capcom or 2".
