look at it this way... no people would buy a card even if truly rare 3 times their original prices, at least not in my region and i doubt your luck to give you what you say you get !

you tell me its true, no problem with that, but i doubt it to be true !
as for platinum angel and myr matrix, no they are truly very destructible, they are the actual metagame and they truly are played a lot, but there is so much artifact hate now a days that its easy to get rid of them !

in any cases magic is a great game and if most of you can't even undertans my points and what i was trying to prooves here... then so be it, but i hate having this kind of opinion...
i wasn't trying to start you playing this nor was i wanted to know your view on the game itself and how you think it was stupid, i was just merely expressing my joy of the cards and the experiences of the FRIDAY NIGHT MAGIC official tournament !

I play Magic more than 5 times a week. I'm also an official DCI Judge. Which I get paid for in cash when I judge events. It's a pretty fun experience. I've been playing since 1994. Its been a pretty long time. I like drafting a lot, but I also like type 2. In type 2 I play Green/Blue control. Which has a pretty good match against affinity. They are probly going to ban Disciple of the Vault come march 1st. If not they are planning to ban something in affinity. I can put money on the Disciple. :biggrin:

marve|911, you prepare by understanding the metagame... the metagame is the actual gameplay of the game itself, meaning its what the duelists are playing, in my local stores the most played decks are AFFINITY and TnN (tooth and nail) !

thus preparing for the game is making your deck based ont he fact that those your gonna play against are playing this and that card game ! knowing the metgame is the big deal if you don't know the metagame then play and learn it cause otherwise you won't be prepared and wont be playing much !

*** FRIDAY NIGHT MAGIC ***
i got my friday night magic last friday, it was my second one. as it was supposed to be there was a tooth and nail and some affinity but to my surprise, burn decks showed up 3x what there was last week. the metagame had drastically changed meaning i wasn't prepared for it, luckily i had time before the tourney so i could rechange my deck a bit and be more prepared against what was there.

a friend of mine there was metagaming a lot, he said that there was so much artifact hate int he metagame that playing artifact decks was just a waste of time ! and in fact he was true to a point. but to my surprise there wasn't so much artifact hate, let's say most of the people played artifacts but most played it creature beatdown or burn decks or combo decks !

here was my match-ups...
ROUND ONE:
BLUE / WHITE PROTEUS CONTROL (me) vs VIAL AFFINITY (a close friend)

howbadly i started playing against my closest friend right in the start, i knew his affinity wasn't a big deal it wasn't finished... yet he defeated me 2 times out of 3 games... a shame of myself... losing to a not competed affinity...

ROUND 2 :
BLUE / WHITE PROTEUS CONTROL (me) vs UNKNOWN DECK
A kid, i won 2-0 agianst him, he had a very weird deck i was even wondering why he was playng this tourney, my guess was that he simply wanted to play !
he played me a couple of equipment, most of which were pretty bad int hemselves !
that was both games...

ROUND 3 :
BLUE / WHITE PROTEUS CONTROL (me) vs BOMBERMAN TYPE 2

normally this deck is a combo deck which goes infite damage on you, but in T2 tourney there is no infinity in this deck... but the deck is pretty straight forward, you play cards and always go for the card needed against what you are playing, it what we call a utility deck, meaning its a deck ready for anything, he has a card for any kind of gameplay !

the best games i had in that night !
first game, he won... he had one creature and hitted me for 2 every turn... i could defend agianst it afew times with some creature control cards like bouncing it back to his hands and the likes, but he got me with a few spell bomb that caused me to lose 2 life if activated !

SECOND GAME...
he sided out of 15 cards like 8 which were all counter spells, cause i was playing counter spells anyway so he prepared agianst me !
we started playing, unlike the first game i was pretty lucky and had my deckl layed out in a few turns only,,, unfortunetly, everytime i played something he countered it, thus i couldn't play my combo nor control his game like my deck is supposed to.

how lucky i was... guess he had drawn all of his counters of his deck, even him was surprised to have drawn that many which brought him to a total of 11 counterspells drawn out of 12 in a 60 card deck !

so it ended there...
2-0 for him and boom, with only 3 points for my previous win, i ended up eliminated from the tourney !

well... it was a good lesson in itself...
i thought my deck could easily play 3 colors but without my precious city of brass i couldn't play the 3 color mana base !
no i have been making the wrong choices, so now i gotta prepare myself for next friday and this time i got a few more card for the tourney so my deck will be betterly layed out and will not be as much artifact destruction as it used to be !

gotta learn from mistakes and this time i had made a big one !

back to MASTAQ...
well i doubt disciple to be banned...
most people are asking AETHER VIAL to be cause its that who makes the affinity so much cause the ravagers ans atogs cannot be countered but for my part i hope cranial plating to be banned !
but i agree disciple should be at least restricted to one per deck !

I know i was looking thru this since february 27 i wa shoping disciple would be banned that way i could easily survives against affinity, but this is way better and affinity killed ? not likely i seen lots of affinity decks which had no lands at all !

the land thing will only slow affinity down nothing else !
as for the ravager thing and disciple of the vault, yep this truly shuts it down, not much but just enough for people to think it twice before making an affinity deck !

too bad this isn't going to happen until march 20th !
but hey this means less artifact hates around my playing place !
can't wait till friday to see how people react to that !

maybe ravager will go down in prize as well just like scullclamp did !
