Anyway, this forum is fine and dandy. But people continue to dwell around waiting for something to happen.. and when nothing happens does that necessarily mean the forum sucks, boring, or has gone down hill? What exactly does everyone want to happen? This is a forum... it's all about one post after the other. It doesn't get more glamorous than that.

I'm basically just sick of seeing "Who was the greatest member?", "The good 'ol days", and "Fondest memories of SFO" topics. Why are so many vets dwelling on the past and past achievements instead of making something special happen now? These days, everyone wants their respect and to be praised so these topics concerning the past make their way into the forum more and more often to rekindle what was lost... whether it be a special event or a member's deserved respect.

This forum, to me, is about relaxing after some fierce battles in SFO and competing in the occasional tournament. It's not about trying to become a forum celebrity, making exotic topics to become popular, or creating these "memory lane" threads in hopes of your name popping up once or twice. It seems these days everyone just wants to see how they measure up with the rest of the community.

The only conflict this forum may encounter to disturb it's peace is a fun but locked topic, wrongfully banned member, or forum shut down. Those are the things we have to avoid... and also topics like these. We don't need newcomers getting a first impression of this great community from this kind've topic.

People do make intelligent posts here and there nowadays but they're the ones that cause the flaming because they're on subjects like this.

And people dwell on the "good old days" because thats what they were, "good". To be honest I don't know what's happened to this place, but I think it might have to do with the lack of members who started intelectual conversations.

Well I guess your right though, we should improve this place and look to the future. All we need is somewhere to start.

we got a lot of sections because YOU, as in THE MEMBERS wanted those sections to be, now i say make up your mind, you wanted them and now that you have them you say its because of them that we have these ####s problems ! again, i say make up your mind !

Snake, the forum is far from being too strict, i wonder when you guys will notice how much freedom we have given compared to what we had back int he days of 2KWARRIOR and ZING79 and even QUASS and LORDCYRIS. come on, we're far from being STRICT if we were a lot more users would be banned for a lot of you have banners that far exceed the limit given back then.

a lot would be banned for flaming all the time and even more would be banned just for saying this game sucks badly and that it shouldn't even exist. yet they are still there telling their opinion , having their HUGGGGGGE banners. so i am sick of people dwelling int he past as you say, come on, you say you the past should be forgotten but all you do is base yourself on past experiment to make your opinion of this place !

i know a lot of rules are just simply stupid... but you should have noticed how they aren't even used as excuses for the mods.

Don't forget the Challenges and Tournaments section. And yeah, those sections would be better since alot of admins don't want to put up with general topics like this one. Dwelling in the past just because the game was way much popular then? TMyApp might, MIGHT, get a lot more hits a week nowbut about 80% now of the users go there to chat/cyber/date and flood. If we had the 4 sections we had before, everyone would be talking about SFO and making all these good setup tournaments not seem so little. Maybe some wouldn't have retired. Maybe the game, not chat, would be much more popular, ranking TMY on top of all shockwave games.

Get this through your thick head. This forum was never created for general discussions about the economy, religion, meet friends and have cyber girlfriends. It was made for SFO STATUS, UPDATES, strategies, tournaments. If you are looking for a community for general discussion, then there are a bunch of communities of that poop in ezboard.com or myspace.com that might fit you. I don't think any admin wants to put up with topics like these. Nferno666 already said it, and blanka09 had said it as well, you keep pushing it and they will just delete these sections. And you will be the NUMBER ONE reason why they will delete these sections. You are the one who started the BG vs SFO topic am I right? So yeah, everyone remember Karma's name, he might be the reason why these sections are deleted. You think people hate you now? Keep bitching and you will see how the "Hate Karma" list skyrocket.

It is dumbass topics like this one that are so convincing to delete these sections. I know that if this topic were to get closed by another admin/mod, you would just go right ahead and start a new one -_-..

Obviously, some users of BG are still posting here so what are you getting all hyped up about? They said "PX forum sucks" yet they post here. It is none of our business what they do or what their opinions are about this forum so if they want to continue posting and bitching about how much this forum sucks, leave them be. I bet if their bitching crosses a line, they will be handled. But they never get accross that line.

You have pretty much annoyed a bunch of people with these type of topics "We need to fix this community", like if you were doing community service hours because of misconduct -_-. I can start a survey and about 95% of the people in this forum would vote "YES, you are annoying". Even some of your fellow mods/admins have been annoyed. They are just staying quiet, for some damn reason, to avoid problems/arguements with you. But keep at it, we might see some SFO history.

Enjoy what is given to you! Be greatful, not every teenager has a computer to join communities like this one and yet your bitching about making this community better. The only problem I see in this online community is ungreatful people like yourself making topics like this one.

Well from my perspective you people do need to change this forum. As many of you have heard this forum was about helping deal with the game's problems in servers, battle etc. This forum/community has grown to be more popular threwout the ages because of the game's drastic changes. Not to mention this is a FREE game, normally we would have to pay 50 dollars at walmart to play a game like this. You people shouldn't worry about the forum as much, but more on the game.

The game plays more then 99.9 percent of the forum's success. Hell without the game, this forum would be nothing, it would serve no purpose. If you people want things such as "Random Insanity" then go to other forums. Even though it may seem like they're taking away the fun of this forum, maybe we should just leave it boring and sappy as it was before the invasion. Anywayz, I think we should give our focus on the game more then this forum. We barely get an update as it is, our last one was on December we're now going to June.

If you people (admins blah blah) want less fights then just stop playing the "good" guy and just take out the damn sections. Stop making yourselfs old, and freaking delete the sections already. If you don't like what you see DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, stop whinning like little kids saying "guys please stop flaming". I say enough with the warnings and delete the damn sections already. To several of the people that replied to this topic, the community DOES need to be fixed. I haven't been here much for so long BECAUSE of the problems, problems which were not prevalent three or four years ago.

You feel my pain now. These are all problems that I dealt with until I quit being an admin of Senshukentaikai. No offense to anybody in particular here, but when the average age of forum-goers is pre/early teen, you'll be forced to deal with a lot of immaturity and, unfortunately, a lot of idiots and uncompromising rejects. That's one of the reasons I don't come here often anymore. <span style='font-size:7pt;line-height:100%'>The other is nobody will hold a decent conversation with me, and I'm typically ignored despite my colorful history here.</span>

Ruling over the forums and moderating takes a subtle touch. Do too much, and people will hate you and disrespect you, saying that you're tyrannical. And yes, I know this isn't a democracy here, but that's how you'll be viewed. Do too little, and you'll be viewed as ineffective or uncaring, and will not be respected.

As for SFO sucking... it's the best free online fighting game on the net. I can't say much for the current state of the game, as I haven't been able to play it for over two years as my computer that I can do such things on is rather old, but nothing will change the fact that it is the best free online fighter around. People hate on it? Don't let them play it. Their loss.

It's an inevitability that when a competitive scene forms around a fighting game, whether it be online, offline, free, based on fees, or whatever, there will be people who endlessly talk poop (pardon the French). There's been such people since the beginning of XMvSF online, and there always will be such people on into the future of SFO. You being a mod, you're just a bigger target for such people.

Games that develop enough of a community to require general discussion and such for an exchange of ideas, thoughts, and opinions ought to have such a section, as this one does. Those who somehow think that such people should have no outlet for discussion are the ones who need to re-examine the purpose of forums.

The sections in which flaming and arguments occur shouldn't be removed. That's just taking the easy and dumb way out, and making the flamers win. Stronger enforcing of the rules, such as using temp/permanent account/IP bans is one effective way to do it. Instead of seeing arguments, you'll see threads of people apologizing, trying to get themselves/their friend back on here, and they'll either learn a lesson, or get banned again. It'll always be a fight against flamers, but that doesn't mean you should just quit.

I'm all for this forum becoming a place for intelligent conversation, peaceful discussion, and so on, but there's a lot that must be done for the forums to become that way. Ban the jerks, enforce the rules (or make more) and stick in there. Might seem a little odd coming from me, after all the disagreements that we've had, but just because we've disagreed doesn't mean I hate you.
