well yeah i agree... the specs of this game seems to go up every damn updates !

so unless you guys have very powerfull computers like i do and lke some others do, you surely won't be able to play and you will lose the precious game you want so badly !

so i guess he got a point !
the background shouldn't be th only thing that should have the option to turn off !
but for one thing i don't understand, what he wants more is to reduce the download time of the game while playing online ! this won't be reduced by reducing the graphics ! so the best way for that to happen is to make a one time download with the download version and then update it with the fast update and not redownload everything !

as for the graphics...
well right cvlick int he window some shockwave option should appear and their is a graphi set, put them on LOWEST and you 'll less great images appearing on screen thus giving you a small (believe me, very small) difference between full graphics and low graphics !

other then that, all people with 700mhz and less are screwed for good gameplay !

[quoteost_uid0="Bob Marley4004"][quoteost_uid0="VampireNinja"]You could just go to options and click on the tab Other
and click off the background
[/quote]
exactly like this:

Now I am offended (as if I didn't already go through the options and see you can turn off the background).

I was talking about the scenery up close on some levels (like the level with the rocket ship that has plummeted into the ground). Remove that little background as well that is attached to the surface of the levels.

And I am glad a couple of you didn't take my "stick figure" line seriously and understood what I was trying to say.

I think an easy way for TMyApp to make the game run alittle better would be to tone down the colors. Alot of colorization goes into alot of characters and their effects. Everytime a character is hit, that contact effect should just be one solid color instead of a white, light blue, blue, etc. I personally think you should take away contact effects period. Don't we know a character is being hit when he throws his head back?

[quoteost_uid0="Restavega"]We should be able to take away all the background including the floor. Just make a white floor with MS PAINT and load that up as the ground. That would be it. No more loading random levels with their corresponding floors. This would cut down the load time and have less graphics to keep up with.

We should have more options to lower the detail in any possible way. Make it manditory too so the players are insync. Or just make a server for only players who are wiping out all of the detail.

Take out all of the contact effects when players are hit. Or take out shadows and make the characters less pixalated too. Even tone down the health bars! Or the effects in the background when you see "K.O!!!"

TMyApp should try and take out anything he can because alot of players like myself would sacrifice all the graphics for smoother gameplay even if it ment Ryu looked like a stick figure![/quote]
Although toning down the graphics may help the lag in this game, over all it would make the game less fun and exciting. The game would be boring like this and i'd rather have my fun then a little less lag.

That's why they'd be options. Some people would hate it, others wouldn't mind it, and others would prefer it.

Exactly, Razz.

If you knew someone you were playing had all his graphics toned down to pen and ink and you were going to experience way more lag then him with your colorful Ryu, you would definitly tone down yours to keep from being whooped.

So, the few players who would start the revolution of no graphics, smoother gameplay would ultimately force other players to join them.

PIP, no, they were way lower then those of today back in 2001 !

you see it goes like this...

in 2001 you needed a good computer that was something like this...

CPU : 500mhz
RAM : 32mb
VIDEO : 16mg

and by today's standard we are forced to play with these to have a small small small chances of being good int he game and not be defeated to easily...

CPU : 1gig
RAM : 128mb
VIDEO : 64mb

see, and believe me i know those stats to be good since i was playing with a 500 with the same specs back then in 2001 ! after 2 years i can easily say that the specs got way higher then they were 2 years ago !

i agree, we should more options so those with low end PCs would have less hard times with FPS problems thus resulting in a control all fliped up while playing problems !

I have a decent computer myself but like others, I just want to eliminate lag all together!

yea, that is a good idea to me... i hope this will happen on the next update! or soon after that, this is a brilliant idea to me...

btw it's not like it will effect the way others play. because you would be able to turn some details on, and off.. i think lots of ppl would like this idea.
