Axe, yeah most of it was spam...
Oh and I've seen both of them and thought that This Bons movie was probly one of the worst 007 flicks... So, I have to go with LO(T)R: (T)TT... Thou I also thought that LOTR 1 was better!

I've seen James Bond, and will be seeing the Twin Towers tommorow... and here's what I've got to say about Die Another Day:
Possibly the most outlandish bond movie I've seen, which at this point they should really just start labeling their movies "00-scifi." It poses none of the characteristics of actually looking believeable and by the next movie I fully expect James bond to have a laboratory so high-tech all he would have to do is opperate a remote-control robot of himself to complete the objective. I mean, cmon here.. isn't this movie supposed to be at least a little believable here? But no, give the bastard an invisible car, a limited waranty to purchase another dick if it is not guaranteed he'll #### another chick every hour on the hour, and of course, a license to get more bullets fired at him then all the laser blasts in Star Wars episode 2, and yet never even get close to being hit by one. And then there's that other point of James bond being able to do crazy/impossible things, like jump start a hellicopter while it falls form the air (do you have any idea what that would do to the propellers?), parasaling a gigantic wave with a iece of a car, over a glacier that must have been a half a mile high, and somehow figuring out just how to dodge all those lasers in the "machine" (whatever it was called), when the guy who friggin opperated it couldn't. *cough* I think that'll be enough for now... until I see the Twin Towers. |

LOTR is just another star wars trilogy and i choose star wars over it. dont anyone see a connection? first lord of the rings: the fellowship of the rings and lord of the rings: the two towers. its a damn trilogy just like star wars.
its true some thing bond does is predictible but the question is not if he gonna survive but HOW he gonna survive. and warrior think about what u said: Quote:

no.... LOTR is a respectable literary work that has been well written and known for several years. LOTR is a book, it wasn't intended to be a movie. and it ends after 3 books, unlike Star wars which goes on for 5 movies, by then it becomes boring. plus, the events in LOTR follows after each other, without one book, the whole trilogy goes bad, but that is not the case with starwars.

*cough* Just saw the Twin Towers today (finally.. thank god).
Ok, here's my comparison of the movies side by side: Plot: James Bond is thrown yet into another action flick of guy trying to take over the world/cause chaos/get rich who consequently happens to have fallen upon some technology that's only rival is from MI16 headquarters. Same basic concept... find out who the guy is, kill some people, follow the bastard to his lair, kill some more guys, screw some chicks, through in a few special effects, and in about 2 1/2 hours the movie ends with Bond screwing on of the chicks again... only 5 minutes after killing the bad guy and saving the world for about the 20time. And the Twin Towers, instead of copying and pasting their last movie, they actually pick up where the last one left off. Aarogan, Gimili, and Legolas travel for 3 days with no rest, food, or... anything to try and rescue their freinds. Gandalf survives the fall, comes back to his 3 companions aid, and together they find a way against seemingly impossible odds (note: I say impossible because unlike James Bond, each one them isn't automatically handed out god mode and can take on 10,000+ enemy's in one movie without ever being touched except by a couple of quick punches in the last 5 minutes of the film). And it follows the others in their own adventures (which I'm to lazy to go ahead and put up here right now as I'm crunched for time). Setting/atmosphere: This is just incomparable. LOTR = ownz James Bond. Special Effects: Die Another Day is just too damn full of it. Almost like the director was saying "through in another couple of special effects here... and oh there's a good scene for a few thousand explosions." LOTR.. I will admit, almost got carried away at the beging with Gandalf stabbing at the Balrog in midair (I mean, cmon... even for Him that's not going not going to accomplish anything). Acting: Almost as obvious as setting.. they don't even need dialoge in James Bond movies now a day. 007 would get by just as easily grunting when he's seducing a girl and making strange orc sounding growls when attacking his opponents. All other acting is totally covered up by the special effects in the background  Overall: I think you all know my stance here... but maybe I'll think about it tomorrow and make a more complete comparison (when I'm NOT busy). |
