well, first of all, im pretty appauled at the fact that spidey's gettin hated on bigtime ???
spidey doesnt have raw power, i think that compensates fine for his speed.
look at akuma, he is slow as hell, but hes incredibly powerful.
ive been using spidey for 2 1/2 years now and i never get that poop from people.
if you guys think that spidey is cheap...i wonder what you think of sentinel(even i think hes cheap as hell)

every charachter is cheap in their own right, and just because you dont know how to fight arial with your shotokanner doesnt mean you have to be dissin up on the faster charachters. :angry:

anyways, for tips,
make sure to stay arial, you will get PWNED if you stay on the ground, spidey is an arial charachter
stick to super jumps, tap down and up, quickly, and as you rise up, throw a web ball, so it goes diagonally down the screen, this is good for cancelling out any attacks and stunning them for a second.
next you want to do a spidey kick to move you across the screen(and most likely behind them)
and throw about 3 or so web balls, and throw in a web sting if you have an energy bar, this is a great intermediate spidey combo.
also once you corner someone, go for tripping(down plus high kick), it works great for combos, for example, go for about 2 trips, then jump up and do a web sting or do a crawler assault, the tripping causes a long recovery, so unless they have a helper, you should get a solid super in.
also, when an opponent corners you a good combo to get you out of that sticky situation as well as deal a buttload of damage is lowpunch+symboite bite(the super)
the lowpunch serves as a stunner to cancel out their attack so you can perform your symboite bite, the symboite will carry them off of you and drag them across the screen doing massive damage(you can get up to a 99 hit combo) this also puts them on the other side of the screen, which is ideal for spidey.
Also, shotokanners work well with spidey in tag, for example, i use akuma, ken or ryu with spidey during tag

Yea, they stay in the air and do that damn kick over and over again. And web ball, ooooo don't get me started. Plus spidey lags a bit. You can hit him 50 times and won't nothin happen.
