So y did marvel shut down its part of x vs xf anyway? Was it that they wanted to make more money by taking it away and forcing people to use the arcade machines or what?

No its because TmYApp didn't have permission from marvel to use any of the companies' content. So far Capcom haven't said anything so be gratefull that we have SFO for the moment.
