In Street Fighter 3: Third Strike you could do something called a parry. It is pretty basic. First of all anything can be parried, except for a move that grabs you (like the raging demon). This is how you parry. Example: You are Ryu and the computer is Akuma you can parry his fireballs. You parry by pressing forward a little. This is pretty difficult to do. But if any of you play 3rd Strike you should parry. Oh and by the way, parrying don't give you damage unlike blocking.

No, it is much better and easier to pull of. You basically time it right and press forward. In the arcade you get a bonus 2000 points everytime you do it and you don't lose points.
