Hiya,

I found XMvsSF online today and I've got to say, it's an amazing game.

I realise that the game is still under development and that new characters and features are being added all the time, but I'd like to suggest joystick support if it's possible with Shockwave.

If joystick support isn't an option (and for the time being) could anyone recommend a good program that turns joystick commands from the controller into keypresses?

Also I've noticed that sometimes, when your character is cornered, it's impossible to block or get away from your opponent so they can just keep pounding you until you're KO'd.

Otherwise, congrats on an awesome game! I'm looking forward to getting a few of my mates (who are really die-hard SF fans) to check XMvsSF out.

Cheers,

whetphish

great game indeed !

to answer your question...

1 - the cornered thing happens when there is much lag, but yeah it could be also a bug !

2 - joystick support is on his way... thoo it is very low priority on tmyapp list ! but for now, there is those joystick emulation programs. like the one that comes with gravis controllers !

go see the FAQ, it is all there !

Hiya,

Cheers for your reply. I've searched the net for joystick to keyboard programs but most of them are awful and/or shareware. I'll probably knock one up myself when I've got a spare hour or so (it won't be for a while, though - busy social life and all! ).

If you know if the Gravis program is freeware and where to get it it from (I can't see it on the Gravis site) it would be much appreciated.

Just for anyone interested in connecting PSX/SNES/etc. controllers to their Windoze PC (assuming you can get hold of one of those programs): check out DirectPadPro 5. (The official site no longer supports the program but this mirror site has the download.)

I'm looking forward to getting my PSX arcade stick up and running at some point!

Just another quick question: Has the project yet been in any legal trouble with Capcom? I mean if it was me I'd see this project as a huge compliment but you know what corporations are like.

Tell you what. This is the sort of game worth getting broadband for! :alien:

Keep up the good work,

whetphish.

I noticed that in the news. Looks good, but it must take a while to program the characters and their moves, etc.

Tell you what; I'd love to see Akuma. Ah well, maybe one day ...

Cheers,

whetphish.

You Know I have been thinking about that az well supersonicz.I have to wonder if he should be postponed or added so fastly to the game.HmMmm.....I mean thatz like may be the gamez best fighter period in my opinion. However then I am thinking of thingz tmyappz is not for Instance will he be used more than cheaply. How would that be possible never mind my badz tmyappz thinkz of that before anythngz else period. My bad big *tmya*Anyhow I think we should let pplz suffer the suspense of having to wait for one of their favorite chracterz.Yez even I wish for him sometimez.Would it be nice we could make a topic about akuma 1 day then talk about thingz tmyapp could possible add. Then again Nah that would probably give tmyapp a heartattack.I think I would make akuma have the strongest attack and stylez but Hey tmyappz doing a awesome Job letz help him by asking the least from him except advice. There also thoze that beg for mercy so that tmyapp doesn't kill them so badly when he fightz them.Any how I also believe that this game is awesome. No doubt tight work Mister tmyappz.Anywho?Letz see letz see HmMmm...Ah yes that controller business.Aight ok Now If I were to use this controller think about the consequencez. You would probably be better off with the cpu Keyboard. Why you ask?.Ok letz think about that for a second.Keyboard Automatically become used to it.May be the same kase with the Joy stick. However that lil cpuBoard haz some thing crucial It may just save your butt.I send of messing up or misdirection can =Instant death if you have lil life left. However as for the keyboard you can control you faultz if you train correctly.I am done I might have been wrong some one can come behind me and state the factz. As well as their Knowledgeable Opinion.

lol

well... the only reason why we dont' have native joystick support is because it is not a part of Shockwave.. thus, it has to be programmed on the side (which means another plugin/xtra to download.. not to mention extra time that could be spent on making the game have less lag and more characters)

so... till then... either stick with the Gravis/Thrustmaster/Microsoft joysticks/gamepads which (all) let you bind buttons on the controller to the keys on u'r keyboard... or use Joystick2Mouse (as stated in the FAQ)
