We're missing a helper from a long time ago

there we 2 different kinds the red one which always hit u well if u were on the ground, and the purple one ( i think thats the colour) which did the blast in the air, that was a crap helper

crap for you but not for those that knew how to use him correctly to take a bunch on health away those who didn't just weren't skilled enough to properly use him i guess that it wasn't hard

hell yeah...
sentinel was one of my best helper at the time !
people seems to look who's hitting harder and then tell that the other sucks hard !
but every helpers have their STRONG and WEAK point... it all depends on with who of them you play !

sure that sentinel wasn't hitting on ground opponent, but it was a sure hit when it camed to block air-born players ! which was about 75% of the players at that time ! people think helpers are only good for blocking supers which most of the helpers aren't even used to that !

its like saying DR. DOOM is weak cause he don't save you from a super when the opponent is far from you !

just to use them adequately and every single helpers will become good for you !

if you have 75 percent left and he has 99 use should just take it easy...you shoiuld take it as if were the other way around and after he does a haduken super jump and call your helper while your in mid are and before your land either hit the mid punch button or the high kick button...either way you'll connect and he'll be dead and he might get 1 hit in so you'll still be alive with 80 or so...each character has hes good and his bad..plus if some1 keeps doing hadokens don't just saty in the same place...i never do i keep jumping forward and blocking at the same time so by the time they get level 1 or so i'm right in there face so they can't connect with it so it goes to waste

Right... been there, tried that... got killed doing it too :biggrin:

Yeah, I always do that... and well, doesn't work. Probably what I'm getting at here is that certain helpers do suck when you're not hosting. When you are hosting... you rarely even need helpers.

And... it's kinda hard to think of it as the other way around since none of your attacks hit them even when you're hitting them 10:1 of their attacks... or even if you block/super jump over 90% of their supers. What really pisses me off is that you can hit them with 100% of your supers, but even the few that actually connect are stopped by a Blanka (thus giving you no opening to deal out effective damage).

I do that too.. and, well... doesn't work unless you are hosting and/or have very little lag on a turbo match (normal doesn't let you block ####, regaurdless of if you see it coming/know it's coming). Try super jumping around.. works for a while, then jump lock. Try running at 'em, jump forward + block, and attack with dragon punches and low attacks, if you don't back off fast enough (and usually when you do anyways), they're either in the same spot throughing hadokens or on the other side doing more of the same... without any damage being taken.

Venom does suck because:
- He can't get you out of being nailed by supers
- He takes almost .01 damage
- He takes longer then almost any helper to get out there
- Even when you use him right, unless your hosting, his move doesn't hit your opponent/allow you to hit them and take some damage.

I'd rather have any other helper in the game (yes, even Spiral can be useful... sometimes). But venom.. no.

Anyways, I've had enough bitching for a while.

well he might suck for you but he doesn't for me...none of the helpers do cause i have good stratagies for all of them...i've won some of my toughest fights with vemon

this example already hapenned to me more then once and i can't seems to understand in which situation he does it !

example:
me = SPIDERMAN + VENOM
user = RYU + GUILE

jumping forward
web ball
spider kick
HK
(hitting ground) webball
jump forward
HK
MK
HK
...
some time passes
...
ok, he's 25% i'm still 75%
i'm at the far right of the screen he's far left
throw out venom
jump forward to my opponent, giving him almost no choice but to block the next few attacks !
*problem start*
venom doesn't follow me, he came out from my opponent side
doing his venom fang right at me while my opponent is still safe behind him !
*problem end*

that happens to me a lot, i can't pinpoint in which situation it happens cause some times he's fine other times he's just ####### CONFUSED ! it's like now work, the next fight be confused, the next fight be confused, the 4th fight be fine !

sometimes he just doesn't do what he's suppose to do !
i tryed also in practice mode...
do the same problem which is a bug i think !

see, venom is a good helper yes... when he works right !
