I, Nantuko Joe, would ownz j00 all in M:tG...despite the fact i havn't played it in a few years.....

I've still got the packaging from my first deck ever, a starter deck of 4th edition.....damn, that was like eight years ago...

I've got a slew of decks. Because i own so many cards, i couldn't resist giving myself a gigantic variety of color choices. Green/Black. Green/Blue. Green/Red. Black/Red. Green/White. Mono-green. Black/Blue. Black/White. Mono Red. Blue/White.

I used to make around 75-80 card decks, but i slimmed it down to about 60 card decks....one of them is a 40 card burn deck, mono red. One time i tried making a 250-card deck that actually HAD A THEME, and it actually worked.

Dammit...now the mystery behind my name has finally been revealed to all.....where Nantuko Joe cam from....*sighs*

@ Nantuko

Next time Im in your neck of the woods let me know where you live. Ill bring my old academy deck and own you. That deck can win on turn 2. Its one of the most evil combo decks of all time.

@Karma

Back a few years there were a lot of combo decks. Mostly one that involved a lot of calculation when using mana. Especially when you were going to finish off your opponent. Sometimes people tapped more mana than they needed. And thus took the mana burn. Sometimes people took mana burn on purpose.

anyone who ever wanted to play the ONLINE game given freely on WIZARDS homepage ?

its a 196megabites of downloads but its really a fun one, its free completely and able you to virtually, buy, trade, sell your cards and play online in tourneys and or simple games !

i am downloading it and i hope its great.
well, yes my deck doesn't own for now, but i plan on having more cards to put in there !

BTW...
i changed my deck...
its now a BLUE/RED deck !
i added some BLACK cards, mainly sorceries, but how am i gonna used them if its a bliue/red deck, simple, with invasion i had 3 SPECIAL LAND cards, i added them to my deck. there is one thing i really don't know about... if i got no monster using GREEN LANDs, why did my invasion deck had 1 forest in it ?

anyway...
i'm not bad, myself, but i'm far from the best, simply because i don't have anyone really playing around !
i should check if there are tourneys around trois-rivieres !
i know there was around 5 years ago but now is there any ?
that's the question !

Title:
Crypt Rats

Land:
20 Basic Swamps

Special Land:
1 Lake of the Dead

Creatures:
4 Blood Pet
4 Basal Thrull or 4 Blood Vassal (or 2 of each )
4 Gangrenous Zombies
4 Crypts Rats

Creature Enchantments:
4 Binding Agony
3 Casting of Bones

Global Enchantments:
3 No Rest for the Wicked

Sorceries, Instants, Interupts:
3 Dark Ritual
4 Unearth
3 Soul Exchange
3 Drain Life

If you have the cards to make this deck...you will like it.

It's out of date, kicks ass, and is alot of fun to play.

It's exactly 60 cards with 1 wild card that can be replaced. This leaves you room to insert 4 sideboard cards without throwing off the balance of the deck to badly.

The only "iffy" part of the deck is the Basal Thrulls,
Basals only cost 2 mana, thus ensuring a 1|2 creature on 2nd turn and a faster ground force, and "stored" mana base. Their downfall, you cant attack with them AND use their ability. Their upside, 1 Basal can pay for another Basal to come into play...a critical point when played properly with a exisiting, or held cycling card. Basicaly "free" or "less expensive" creatures on the board, AND a stored mana base.

Blood Vassals can be a little slower to come out since they cost 3 mana. However their effect is better then the Basals, because you do not need to tap the Blood Vassal to get the 2 mana from it, you simply sack it. Thus allowing you to be able to attack with them AND sack them for mana as they goto the grave, for a quick boost of mana. Plus they have a better offense. Their down side...you can not cycle them as easily or inexpensively as you can the Basals

So the decision is difficult. After many games each have proven their worth more than once...The choice is yours.

The best thing about this deck, is it is not one of those Scrye 2 move cheapo decks.
Everyone reads about those decks in the magazines, then rush out to make them. Just so they can try and entertain the fantasy that they might be so clever as to create such a thing on their own....i hate those kind of people.

wow, what a deck nosoul, tho i don't even know those cards you mentionned, they seems awesome to play with !

i don't have such a good deck, but i do have lots of (if well played) good cards. i kinda like my SLUGGISH card ! it makes a creature not able to defend as long as this card is on it and the only way to make it go away is to sacrifice the creature, which will have the only effect of bringing my card back in my hand ! that card can't go in the graveyards unless it was in my hand and discarded it myself !

i used it to render my opponents WALL unusable !
fun to see them try and block my gerrards irregular with their weak creatures that are all already tapped cause they attacked with them in the last turn !

other then that, i have lots of magic cards that makes me able to return creatures in their owners hand, not much, but if well played it ables me to attack them without being any problems !

on that i use also cards that able me to select a creature, including the player itself and deal damage to them ! unless they have some INTERRUPT or INSTANTs that they can use against me !

other then that, my deck is more for defense play then attacks ! attacks are reserved for my sorceries ! but i do have one or two monsters that can attack well pretty good !

Sounds like you have "slim pickin's" for cards at the moment.
So I'll offer a bit of advice.

Rares are NOT "where it's at", they are nothing but show.
Dont get me wrong, I have seen some bad ass combo's with rares that are just staggering...but not worth the price, or hassle of trying to acquire.

Commons, Semi-Commons are the way to go. THAT is where all the power is at, AND the most versatility of combonations and effects...toss in a semi-rare here an there, and with all that versatility you become unstoppable.
Well...not "unstoppable"..every deck has a weakness, even a "locked" deck can have a "key" constucted to unlock it.
Best part about commons and semi-commons are that they are easy to acquire.

But it is an evil game. It becomes a "habit". It can become the only thing you think about, and the only thing you wanna spend your money on...wich brings me to my next bit of advice.

DONT go rushing out to buy the uber latest editions of Magic from the local card dealer...buy yourself "package deals" off of e-bay, if you intend on buying into the game...you will save your self ALOT of money this way.

If you feel you "must" goto a local dealer. Make sure they have a "commons box" that you may browse through. Most if not all dealers place rares, and semi-rares in their commons box as bait, or because they screwed up. So if you do goto a card shop, set aside enough time so that you can rifle through ALL of the loose commons they have for sale. You usualy get a better price then what is posted. PLUS you will get yourself a handfull of rares/semi-rares to play with as well as all those "gotta have" commons and semi-commons..all dirt cheap.

Lastly...dont become too consumed with the game.
I have seen MTG encourage arguments, fights, theft of cards and destroy age old friendships in a single game.

..i should know. I played for 5 years and passed one of the MTG instuctors test/courses...Got a free "Official Magic the Gathering Instuctor" T-shirt and everything. :0
...so i seen alot of games.

But alas, I have not played a single game, or looked at a single card for 3 years now.
(except to post my Crypt Rats deck or course..i love that thing)

I found a Pyramids of Giza from Arabian Nights (worth $40 at the time) in a commons box, and he charged a commons price of .25 for it.

But I wasn't the one who bought it .
