well, i'm not too worried about the bandwidth... even if the site was 100 times bigger, it would still take up 100 times less bandwidth than the actual game

the web site must be kept simple.
we cannot hope for people coming here and hoping to play if they are lost right after entering the web site ! in either way, this is not a web site for informationnal purpose, the way you propose him let him think that you want the faq to be found more esily, the forum to be found more easily then the gameplay which is what people come for !

so i say, keep it this way, add more buttons in the top frame, change the colors, add a few pictures and resize the pictures int he middles, so the play button could be even bigger, this way people will see easily what they can and cannot do on this web site. and if they want to play, they won't look for long before clicking on the big PLAY BUTTON !

here is what i think is not important to have on the web page !
- news of the game (tho it would be fun, there is already a forum for that, so a simple link to it will do)
- lots of eye candy (we don't need all those flashy things or all those images that many web site places for nothing)

here is what i think should be there...
- button for screenshots
- button for forum
- button for PLAYING
- button for the top score
- button that goes to the news forum
- button for VERSION HISTORY (the page exists but we never had any links telling us that it did)
- button for RULES
- button for Characters (which would include a move list and faq on each chars)
- button for IRC CHAT

that's about all we need, other then that , there is nothing more asked to be done !

to do this, we don't need any big web site. we must also consider that if tmyapp have a small website, his bandwidth will be saved a little and that little will cost him a little less. so basically a website like this one is all he needs cause its the game and forum who runs the site, not the main page !

This kind of goes along the lines of keeping the site similar to the way it is now...
I didn't know what else to add, since it was basically all covered...
Nice, simple & uncorporatelike... Needs a more noticeable difference in the rollover image though... :alien:
But an SFO banner could be thrown on the top somewhere...
Maybe a frame could be set to the right that shows the top 15 players (Current & connected to the Top Scores)
Another frame could hold the IRC chat...

Just my humble suggestion... I'm open to criticism... :S

For all you IE inadept, hold the cursor over the image for a second & a button will appear which upon clicking will show you the image at full size (1024x768)

i have an idea...how about if we make the colors red and black/blue (akumas colors) and make like however many for each of the chars...or the color changes everytime a new char comes out.....if you dont understand i will edit in more detail...if you want that is.

I know what ya mean...thats a pretty good idea..or maybe we can have a default theme and some alternate themes for it. I was on photoshop did-daddling around and came up with this. I know it aint great and it aint finished but i like it. I may even use it for my site
