Ok, Mooo1 first you must understand what is inside volcanoes.Don't answer with lava because would hav to say that is incorrect.Magma is lava before it is exposed to the earth's surface.

Now, to answer your question.The pressure from the movement of plates opens areas that lead to the earth's "mantal."The mantal is the layer below the earth's crust.Now we as the human race can never dig to the mantal because the heat is about 500 to 800 degrees there.So the way the rock from the mantal which is magma reaches the earth surfaces is by the pressure of the movement of the plates.

When I say plates don't mean the same plates as Tupac I'm talking about the "Plate Boundaries".There are three in all.

Convergent Boundary
Transformation Fault Boundary
