I don't find anything wrong with dr doom, and as for instant kill, i have never been instant killed by dr doom. I think he is one of the best helpers we have so far, and even if your opponent uses him, you could try fireballs to keep them away untill it wears off. Or you could use a super if ya got one, and if you have a character that can multi jump in mid air then it is even easier to avoid him.
