Actually, I did have an experience with a PitBull. It was my cousin's pitbull, it was on a leash. I was loading up some cartons of soda (or something) and I was getting nearer and nearer to the PitBull, and asked my cousin if it bites. He said, it does, but not anymore because it got into a fight with another pitbull and got his jawbroken into a bunch of little peices by the pitbul's amazing strength. It was growling at me but didn't jump because he knew it would hurt him more than it hurt me. My cousin told me it could bite someone's hand clean off if it had the chance.
Now, if we would have taken your advice of "punishing the deed, not the breed", and that pitbull's jaw wasn't completeley broken, I would have gotten my hand chopped off.
Yes, the pitbull would have probably gotten killed or something, but WHAT ABOUT MY HAND. THESE poopS DON'T GROW ON TREES.
You don't need to get bitten by a petbul to know it's a dangerous breed.
YOU DON'T NEED TO STEP ON poop TO KNOW IT SMELLS.
