here r some ways of reducing lag:

1) click low lag compensation from the network tab under options

2) click no background

3) deactivate the music

4) it seems normal mode causes just a little bit less lag than turbo mode

5) well i had one last thing but i forgot wut it was

yep these are some ways of reducing lag. I think you missed the lag boost thing. To add it simply go to "network" then click on "slow connection mode(for high lag)."

first: it's not because SOMEONE has less lag ina way that it will be the same for the others !
why ?
reason: you don't have the very same machine !

LAG:
there is two kind of LAG.
INTERNET BASED
MACHINED BASED

the internet one cannot be touched as it is not done by your machine but by the network itself.
the machine lag isn't really lag, it is more FRAME SKIPPING and TIME PROCESSING.
let's say you got a machine like this one...
- AMD K6/2 500mhz
- 128mb ram
- RIVA TNT 16mb ram (video card)
(that's the actual OLD machine i was playing before my new computer)
so, you'll have to play with everything down, the less details the better.
keep in mind that this game requires a very powerfull machine to play with everything at highest details !
now, let's say you got this machine...
- INTEL CELERON 1.7ghz
- 128mb ram
- 3D prophet 4000TX 32mb ram (video card)
(my actual new machine)
then now you have what it takes to put everything to its highest and still are able to play without even FRAME SKIPPING a bit.
believe me, there is a very big difference now !

so what works for you may not works for others as they don't have the actual machine you have.
if the person plays on 166mhz, don't try and reduce his lags as it will not be lag who is the cause but FRAME SKIPPING.

now for some VOCABULARY...
FRAME = images that you see on the screen (normal = 60/sec, higher the better)
FRAME SKIPPING = when your computer as trouble folowing the gameplay. it's SKIP, maning that your are not at 60/sec. but at a lower 30/sec. or worst, at 2/sec. causing your screen to get CHOPPY or REAL CHOPPY.

that's the difference between two machines !
people should try their own configuration. of course you can still try the same config as someelse, but that isn't sure that it will do you good !

for my part, it's true that turbo gives more lag, but i know that on my old computer it was the other way around !
i'm just glad that now i can play 4p match with lots more FPS (FRAMES PER SECONDS) then i was before !
