**this message is intended for TMyApp**

i figured a long time ago that the game is setup like that...
Player A <--> SERVER <--> Player B

now the packet (data that is send) goes thru the server then goe's to the second player and the process redoe's itself ! if we bypass the server then we cut the lag by half ! but, the question now is...

is it possible for you to make the game ALL downloadable to all ?
how much the game would be in MegaBytes ?

i know you have a DOWNLOADABLE version that you don't know where to put in. i have a place for you, but if i remember right, you don't want it cause it's a FREE SERVER ! but i will tell you anyway.

it's MULTIMANIA

you got 100 megabytes to put a web site on !
just think about it cause it's in my oppinion the only way to reduce lag by now !

don't take that thread as flaming about the lag, but a simple solution to a common problem we all have !

well.. if by "figured a long time ago" you mean "u still have no idea".. then yes... you a right :biggrin:

what can i tell you... these types of threads are probably the mosted h8ted by me...

if you think about it.. it is quite insulting to have someone who doesn't work on the game... and has never created a game such as this one (or doesnt' even know how games in general are made ??) give out "suggestions" ... and not just regular suggestions, but.. the most OBVIOUS suggestions on "how to fix all bugs" (or something along those lines)...

.. i was going to write up a huge explanation, but, insteal i've just decided NOT to dignify this thread with a proper response...

for the future however.. if someone DOES whant to start this kind of thread... DON'T... but if u must, put it in the form of a question.. as in "would it possible to do X thing... and if not, why?" and not "TMy u'r an idiot.. u should have done it like this.."

that is what you ask for, a question !

i'm sorry if this has hurted you, it wasn't meant to and all i wanted to say is YES I DO PROGRAM GAMES !! they are not based off internet but i have done or i must say try some. you should admit tmyapp that you are not the only one who understand what you are doing and if you can't take a simple help then it's your problem not mine...

i was simply trying to help myself understand what you can and what you CAN'T do and why you can't do it ! you want a simple question then here it is !

i just want to know your POV on this, if i was wrong then just tell me what is wrong after all I DIDN'T CREAT THIS GAME. that's always your answer to everything i'm really annoyed to always get that answer. i want real answer about why it isn't possible or why you don't want to do that that's that simple tmyapp !

again, i'm sorry if it hurted you it wasn't meant to, but now can you answer my question ? or lock the topic and i will know that you don't want help !

I don't mean to be rude....
But isn't rejecting help from someone, or denying to answer a question you can answer insulting to the person trying to help, or asking the question?

roll: i have asked a number of times for these types of threads (or suggestions) NOT to be posted (or presented to me for that matter)... so that fact that i might "insult" someone with my reply is not an issue...

and why ?? because i have never asked for anyone's help... and i doubt that i will... (DanYankees: thanks for pointing that out)

i'm not some amature kid who is trying to re-make pong... i am a professional programmer... and thats how i make my living... (it is not a very good living... but, thats another story) :biggrin:

i've been doing this for most part of my life... (not to mention all those painful years of college)... so really... help from someone who has not created a project/game such as this one is not required...

in any case... i will answer your question.. and you will find out once again why i h8te these damn posts (since in the end, all i'm doing is pointing out the faults in these wonderful suggestions)...

THIS is how the game works:

1 on 1:
Player1 <--> Player2

2 on 1/2 on 2:
Player1
^--> Player2
^--> Player3
^--> Player4

whats the difference between this model and the one karma is talking about? well.. there is no "server"... Player1 IS the server... thus, in a 1 on 1 game, information is sent directly between the two players WITHOUT a third party... (p2p)

in a game with 3 players or more, again, Player1 is the server.. and all information is being routed through him...

in addition, there is NO difference between the .exe version ("downloadable version") and the "online" (or "in-browser") version... because (surprise surprise) the browser "downloads" the game (or "streams it") to your hard disk b4 it runs it... (sorta' like re-downloading the game each time, unless it is already present in u'r cache)

solution ?? there is none.. because there is no problem with this setup... it is done by the book...

the only real lesson is to keep in mind that there is ALWAYS a reason why things are the way they are... (keep that in mind next time you make a post)
