Tiers just don't mean ranks, tiers is placed on how much a character dominates. Roll and Dan or lowest tier because they don't dominate at all....

It's not like if you stick a newbie Cable player vs the greatest Dan player, it's about how much a character dominates.

Shoto's aren't top tier, and that is a fact, you might think shoto's are the best, but you haven't fiercely tried out the other characters as the shotos, maybe you should think about that for a while....

i dont like shotos much in MVC2
except for Dan and Akuma.. but Akuma has no defense..
But Dan... hes Unpredictable, so that pretty much makes him the best shoto

mm.. i like akuma and ken cause i'm good with them. sakura, i'm okay with. akuma isn't too bad. but i love ken's shinryuken. that move is probrably one of my favourite move in xmvssf. it's useful against gambit users who jump all over the place. plus, it looks cool. yep, that shinryuken attack is good, i like using it(even if i always miss, lol).

Very funny Roll :lol: ,Sean was trained by Ken,the way of shotokan.Sakura doesnt know "the way of shotokan"lol.Shes looked at Ryu moves, thats it.She didnt learned anything.

Let's say if I were fighting back in the day(during ToC1), against McBeth when he was in 1st place... who would win in a best of 5 match?


rank only means where your placed, not how well you dominate, theres a really huge difference.

i never said it was same as ranks, i said "LIKE" ranks. as in, ranks doesn't mean anything... someone who is 1st can be beaten by someone who is 10000th. same goes for tiers, people can beat someone who is real good with MAGNETO and still get beaten by someone who use DAN !

tiers aren't something that can be use for everyone cause everyone make their own tiers depending on how they play and on how they know the chars !

you say magneto is in top tiers... in my place i see it in lower tiers cause i cant seems to be able to play with him ! like i said, i have as much chance to dominate all the others with DAN then you with magneto... it is all a question of view ! and nothing else !

Tarkan, you need to lose this obsession with "tiers." There is no way that you could possibly prove this theory, ever. Even if you were to take statistics from tournaments on who the finalists use, that proves nothing. Some of the best players don't even participate in tournaments, or even go to the arcades, for that matter. In fact, some of the best players probably sit around at home and practice insane combos on their Dreamcast all day and all night. But you'd never know it, would you? For all you know, they might very well be able to beat Magneto or Sentinal with ease, with one of the characters you consider to be "low tier."

What I find ironic is, most of the characters that you consider to be "high tier," are the ones that most of us regard as cheap (e.g. Storm, Cable). Giving "cheap" an honorable sounding name like "high tier" doesn't change what it is. And if you were truly as good of a player as you try to portray yourself, then you wouldn't need only "high tier" characters in your team, would you? A truly skilled fighter should be able to use everyone equally well. I'm with Karma 100%.

Okay yes a low tier can beat a top tier, that is true, but if you matched up two of the best players in the world, one chooses magneto, the others chooses Dan in a best of 10, the Magneto player would win, that's how tiers are made, how dominant a character is....
