I just wanted to comment on something. I know for sure now that i cant host. I have no idea why though. All i know is that people say u cant host because u have a firewall, proxy or your computer is routed. Well that does't apply to me. Today, I completly rebooted my comp; i reinstalled windows xp into my hard drive. I started with a fresh new computer with no internet, no firewall, NOTHING. Then i set up my internet connection and went on SFO. I tryed hosting a game for like, the 100th time and to my surprise, could still not host a game. So that's why i've come to the final conclusion that no matter what i do, i'll never be able to host.... *sigh* :sleepy:

You know, it could be that your firewall is pre-programmed automatically in your PC...

No,.... I checked. When i looked under the control panel there wasn't any firewall at all. I had to use a CD-ROM to install the firewall, which i did after i tryed to host.

[quote
ost_uid0="Nferno666"]i said it once and i'll say it again....a softare type of firewall aka norton/window XP firewall you can host...a hardware type of firewall aka routers you CAN'T. if you can host with a software firewall then that's your fault and not the the software....when the game is run for the 1st time when your using a software type firewall the firewall ASKS you if you want to allow/block all the ports the game wishes to use. if my accident you choose to block then you have to goto the firewall CP and allow the ports and give SFO the permission to allow it to use the 1626 port ot whichever port you use[/quote] there yah goe good 2 go |

It's easier for me.. I have an external firewall, so if I want to play SFO I just unplug it
