This thread is to discuss Nintendo's press conference, which will happen at 9:00a.m. PST (12:00p.m. EST) tomorrow (Tuesday). In this press conference, they're supposed to show the Revolution, discuss it, and possibly reveal what makes it so revolutionary. In addition, they'll be hyping the DS going online, and hyping DS titles. There's also the new Legend of Zelda game: Twilight Princess. They'll be showing that off as well.

Hype is allowed in here until the conference, but keep it clean. Don't start a flame war or anything over, "OMG this system suxorz," or the like.

i'm guessing that they will do that they did with the Gameboy SP and the gamecube being linked together like what they did with legend of zelda 4 swords. so they'll probably do that with the DS and the revolution

Nintendo reveals details Tuesday of its new system, code-named Revolution, after Sony's announcement of the PlayStation 3 console Monday and Microsoft's unveiling of Xbox 360 on an MTV special last Thursday. (Related story: PS3 purports to pack the most power)
All the action is taking place before the annual E3 Expo, which begins Wednesday. The three gaming giants will unveil the systems there.

Microsoft is expected to have the Xbox 360 in stores first, in time for the holidays. Nintendo and Sony will follow in 2006. No prices have been set, and release dates have not been locked in.

Nintendo, whose GameCube sales have lagged, hopes to gain ground, particularly among the fast-growing older-gaming market. Revolution is about the size of a stack of three DVD cases and has no visible knobs, buttons or ports for joysticks. The system will use only wireless controllers, and it sits flat or stands vertically.

With its front-loading slot for discs, it will play games on full-size DVDs as well as older GameCube games on mini-DVDs. Like Xbox and PlayStation 2, it will play DVD movies.

Nintendo, which mostly ignored the Net with GameCube, also is catching up with the online wave. Revolution will offer broadband access to a free Internet-based player matching service, similar to Xbox Live, that also will have downloadable versions of nearly every Nintendo game

Wow, downloadeds for every nintendo system! This is fliping great!

That measn I can download nintendo classics and play with my family all day whenever there isn't enough money to buy a new game.

And it can play gamecume mini disks, AND has wireless controllers!? This is fliping great.

Nintendo totally pulled through.

The revolution is sounding pretty cool.

Have you heard about the GBmicro? It's smaller than an Ipod and will be able to play every GBA-GB game.

Yeah it seems the nintendo revolution looks like a worthy competitor out of the big 3. Looks like all 3 have wireless controllers too.

I don't see much point in a gb micro though, why would you wanna play gba-gb games when you can get a DS?
